Document storage boxes from stationery suppliers. Usually supplied flat packed, get the decent ones and they'll swallow loads of heavy stuff. They come with lids, so you can stack them easily, and when you're done they fold flat so you can keep them for next time (and clutter up the house with them!)

Alternatively any office will throw out gazillions of strong cardboard boxes + lids that A4 paper comes in (5 x 500 sheet). Somewhere like a print room would easily go through several boxes of paper in a day.

Hope you've made a huge dent in your de-cluttering/packing. Keep up the good work.

I saw this thread when it started and I think its to blame for the major declutter and starting to pack mode I have gone into, and I have not had an offer on the house yet so even if one came in and was accepted when the estate agent opens tomorrow morning its going to be 3 months before I would be moving from here!
My clothes are down to a minimum, 9 boxes in the spare room packed, 2 kitchen cupboards cleared and empty, loads of books and other stuff taken to the charity shops, there will be a lot less to move when I do eventually go than there was last time :D

    Hi all

Although not relevant to your situation LE3 (sorry!) I wanted to mention that I decluttered before the agents did their valuations. This way, our flat looks lovely and tidy and fairly de-personalised and I'm hoping it will make life easier when we do come to physically move! Fingers crossed!

    Good luck with it all.

  • hey all,

we are moving in 5 weeks and hubby says we should start packing up now! I thought this was a bit early but maybe not? We have 2 young kids so maybe I will start clearing out all their junk first!

Because we are in rented I wanted to make the place clean etc so we get the full deposit back so perhaps moving everything out of one bedroom, cleaning well, then putting the stuff back in would be wise!???
