When you get to your new property, get your bed built and make it properly, sheets, pillows etc. so when you're knackered in the evening you can just get straight into it.
Do yourself an overnight bag with toiletries, pyjamas and a change of clothes for your first night/day in your new house.0 -
Please send motivation - mine's gone out the window!!
After spending the weekend packing (managed 1 1/4 rooms out of 7+loft+shed) I have lost oomph! Managed a bit Tuesday but none yesterday
Must get lots done tonight!!0 -

Just think about how easy it will all be to unpack into your lovely new home if you do it well and sort as you pack now! I find it easier to set myself thing to pack rather than whole rooms, like a cupboard, under the bed, kitchen cupboards etc!
Go go go!0 -
Hehe you're doing really well LE3, the hard part is now, once this is cracked it'll be so nice to be able to unpack useful stuff in your new home (and not 5 yrs of clutter that you need to find a new storage space for!)
Good luck, you'll get there slowly but surelyGet some friends round to help and have a party whilst you're at it

GET OFF YOUR BACK SIDE AND GET SOME PACKING DONE, IF YOU DONT DO IT WHO WILL?:rotfl:
Make sure you've got everything in the house that you need to use i.e boxes, tape, scissors, plasters, stickers, coffee/tea, biscuits. Once you have all that there is NO need to leave the house untill you've done at least a room today.....
I'm motivating myself to get the house tidy again lol!!!!! (house gone in local property guide today)
Sorry for shouting lol but I think its needed PMSL!

Off to do another cupboard now0 -
LE3, good luck. I'm just starting to think about planning our move (hopefully exchanging tomorrow) and wile most of our big stuff is packed nd in storage the stuff secreted in my parents loft and shed is giving me the collywobbles! Also the day to day ''stuff'' we've been living out of suitcases for...years and years, and its still daunting!
Good luck: please inspire me0 -
good luck lostinrates
thanks for today's inspiration - managed to clear a whole wardrobe, a set of drawers & 2 units from the "desk" area. Doesn't sound like much when written like that but it was! Must get sleep now, but back on the case tomorrow ...0 -
i moved 18 months ago from an 8 roomed house to a 4 roomed house.. and so massive decluttering was needed....
i know its a bit late for this.. but i had decided 6 months ahead of time that if anything came into the house... something else left the house..... so the clutter did not build up
a month before the move i decided - EVERY time i left the house, something left with me... either to the dump, charity shop or dustbin...
however
the REAL answer to all this is
STOP BUYING STUFF !!!!!!
i certainly have since this massive move and massive decluttering.. i swore never to have to go through it all again.....
we really dont neeeeed most of the "stuff" we buy.... lets try to be greener and then de-cluttering wont be necessary for our next house...
THE best advice anyone ever gave me re decluttering and it is soooo true is
once "IT" has left your house you will not be able to recall what it was - that is so true....0
