Its a 70% saving on an atsronomical starting figure its unrealistic in my view and weve essentially stopped selling Aviva motor at the moment as theres no way round it.
Basically the average price on Aviva is £2000 ish from a number of quotes ive done. Then we get this box flash up as I hit calculate which is the legal blurb advising if the client is willinng to go through a "lifestyle check" which does leave a footprint on there credit file they can get a discount.
The rate then comes back in line with what the kind of rates Aviva were offereing before they started this which were never that great anyway.
I hate it with a passiona nd advise anyone on here to avoid Aviva like the plague.
on a different note Halifax dont question BR for house insurance at all, cant pay monthly but there rates are very good.0 -
Am I right in thinking Aviva was the old Norwich Union?
If so..they've started a disturbing pattern of 'taking over' from pure underwriters.
I have a car on very specialised insurance.....paid annually, the premiums doubled last year...when the broker concerned had to go with Aviva.....they stipulated a minimum premium for all motor insurance, with loadings starting at that point.
No argument, no option to haggle....unless the broker forewent their commission....
My gut feeling is Aviva has become the unacceptable face of capitalism......No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......0 -
Whats the specialised insurance ? its unususual for any broker to be forced into a corner with any insurer especially Aviva (yes formally NU). Sounds mor elike the broker is receiving enhanced commissions0

direct line were ok with me although they would only run an cca through a 3rd party otherwise it was pay up one lump sum but no extra charges were added due to me being br.0
