I disagree with him but not the place for that debate, long and short insurers arent wrong to ask the questions if claims histories show those who are BR are a claims risk. Theres a reason the question is asked not just to beat down on BR, for the same reason most of those insurance companies have no objection to insuring BR for car insurance.

Agreed, but still prefer a definitive time frame.

I find it interesting that car insurance companies are now finding out about peoples BR and telling them they can no longer insure them. I am well out of my BR now but never had a problem with car insurance and like another on here i am now insured with Swiftcover.

Aviva for one are currently piloting a new rate that will credit check EVERY customer and therefore leave a trace on you history. If you refuse to allow them to credit check you, it assumes worst case senario.

    More companies will follow.

The rates are supposibly very good if your clean.

No help to us here then :)

That bloody makes my blood boil. If they are going to just beat up people who have had a hiccup in there financial life then i hope people dont use them. I for one have always found them a ripoff so wont worry but i think its wrong and surely at somepoint this must become discrimination?

It is an optional thing that you can opt out of, but it will penalise you for opting out.

They talk 70% saving, but we are not live yet, so i'll take Steve's word for it and it dosen't suprise me.
