Biggar - Let's face it, even if they had been the right size, they wouldn't have been the colour and design that your wife wanted. Know your place!DFW Nerd 0350

What size were they and what size were they meant to be? I would do as a previous poster says and ebay them - or see if anyone you know needs any and will take them off your handsWeight Loss - 102lb0

Trouble with taking them back in a different packaging is the bar code on the packaging is likely to be different to the one on your receipt.Could be embarrassing to explain how that happened.Wish you luck getting it sorted though.0

all this re-packaging sounds terrribly complicated, not to mention potentially embarrassing. & re-selling sounds too time consuming & complicated if you're not used to e-baying
Jay-Jay's idea of re-sizing sounds the simplest, I've done it in the past & it's a very easy job to turn double covers into singles. bear in mind that if they started life king-size though, they'll need shortening slightly too
do you have a friend who's handy with a sewing machine & might be willing to help?
good luck whatever you decide to do0 -
Are you the same man who melted the handles of a saucepan by using it as a casserole dish? Happened when I used to work in Boots when it had a kitchen department. I ordered new handles and saved his life!
Take them to a different M&S store, tied with ribbon, and explain a well meaning anthea turner inspired friend gave them as a gift in a basket and had already removed the packaging but kept the receipt. May work.Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:
I have done reading too!

Thanks for all the replies which I'm going to study.
I thought they were single beds but they are small doubles and I bought single covers.
No! I didn't burn any handles Sarah. I'm not THAT domesticated that I would know what a casserole dish is! I hardly even know what an oven is.:p0 -

no... because he could buy single ones, squish the ones he doesn't want into the single packaging and take that back along with the receipt for the single ones he bought.
Just depends if it's possible to fit a double into a single packaging. And obviously he'd be paying the price of a double one when only getting a single0 -
The store will then presumably end up with a product they cant sell-because its in the wrong packaging. So the OP will have got the cash back and the shop has something unsaleable.I think the Op could be on dodgy ground here-even though the OP has lost out,so has the shop.I think its still probably classed as deception.0
