I'd look at feedback they've left for others out of curiosity, to find out if they're in the habit of leaving undeserved neutrals. Some buyers apparently don't read the page that comes up if you try to leave neutral feedback (the one that suggests you try to sort things out with your trading partner first) and don't realise that neutral is a bad thing. Their warped reasoning may have led them to think that they should leave a neutral because they couldn't really comment on the quality of an aborted transaction.black-saturn wrote:I've just had someone buy a CD player off of me for £65 and then 3 days later sends an email telling me they have changed their mind. I said that was OK and relisted the item and now they have given me a neutral feedback. What did I do to deserve that? I'm going to file a NPB alert when the 7 days is up and then neg them.0 -

Exactly!!
It's amazing what people think they can get away with when hiding behind a computer screen. :mad:0 -

Actually, the auction I go to will allow a bidder to withdraw if they explain why to the auctioneer after the event and don't make a habit of it.

Ah, they drive you mad sometimes, buyers.
Last week I had a NPB who hadn't read the auction terms properly and so changed their mind. I was really nice to them, polite and didn't strike them and they still left neg feedback for me . I also had a buyer leave me neg in error that she meant to give to one of her NPBs:rolleyes: . That was withdrawn thankfully
Ebay~ A wretched hive of scum and villainy.

Well i filed against her and she replied with the same answer meaning I havent had to wait for the seven days. I gave her two days to reply to this message from me
"Sorry but buying on ebay is entering into a contract and changing your mind is not really a reason
not to complete the sale. The only way for me to get my fees back is to open this dispute. People
buying items and then changing their minds is a bad problem on ebay right now and this costs sellers
money and wastes their time. Hope you understand that this is necessary to reclaim my fees from ebay
as i refuse to be out of pocket for people changing their minds."
She didnt reply to this so i closed the dispute and the minute i done that she changed to no longer registered
Oh well at least she cant neg me now:T"The darkness has no answers"0 -
mad bad spender, the fact that she was NARU'd immediately possibly means she had other strikes already on her account. Good result though, well done.
It is worth knowing though that sometimes a suspended buyer will try and reregister and when they can't will go back to all the sellers and ask them to remove the strike so they can get their old account back, I've had this happen to me. I just ignore them if they do that.

Tis not just the buyers though. I've had 3 sellers in as many weeks who are refusing to sell items that i've won because they haven't got what they wanted from them.
The last one (last night) has accused me of being a thief and a liar (?!) because I won (by his caluculations) £1000 worth of stuff for £10.50. JHe said that i've set out to ruin him!
(BTW can I do a NPS on them if they were all cash on collection: i.e. I haven't paid yet?)"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it may be necessary from time to time to give a stupid or misinformed beholder a black eye."...Miss piggy0 -
Just read this thread, surprise surprise, ebay is not a secure place to do business, ebay does not confirm who it's account users are so the whole system is run on the basis that the users are honest, and of course give people the ability to be dishonest and they will grab it hand over fist. Ebay is therefore a pile of carp.
I see OP was concerned about getting a neg for filing NPB....surely it must be an Ebay rule that if the NPB is succesful then any feedback from that buyer is erased???? Or is this another example of how Ebay sucks?0 -

If the NPB dispute is completed and closed without the buyer responding then the buyer loses the right to leave a feedback rating.
If however the buyer does respond then they can leave feedback.
If a seller could stop a buyer leaving feedback entirely by starting an NPB then just think what fun scammers could have....They could set up auctions with cheque payments, cash the cheques start NPB disputes on all the buyers which means buyers could not leave feedback to warn others, then just keep scamming. I really can't see that being a good idea.

Wouldn't the bank records of cheques being cashed be good enough to prove good intent (and possible fraud of seller) or is this another example of how ebay sucks?0
