I'm signed up with edigital but was wondering if any other companies do home based MSing, ie non-store visits ?
I know I could sign up to other companies to try and find out, as then I could see the jobs, but was wondering if anyone could let me know of the most likely ones to try.
Thank you0 -
I've just returned home from completing several MS assignments in town.
One of the them was a camera store for GR and the case notes state If the staff member is not wearing a lanyard, please ask them for their name or a quotation at the end of your enquiry. Failure to get the staff member's name will result in non-payment for this assignment.
Guess what? I didn't get the staff members name! The staff member I dealt with was the only one not wearing a name lanyard and I tried several ways of obtaining their name during the conversation but I think she was determined to not give me her name (probably because she was rubbish!) I even asked her directly for her name which she wouldn't give, she just said that she was weekend staff and if I called in again any member of staff could help me!
I've emailed GR prior to completing the report so I can only hope that they accept the details of my visit. Although it may save me a lot of comments typing if they decide to not accept my report!
Grrrrrr!
I would still complete the report and put in a full description of the staff member along with an explanation of how you tried to get the name, including the fact that she flat out refused to give you her name. I know it's difficult to do that in 255 characters, but try anyway. Also send a separate email explaining in full - use the red clickable box on the job details screen.
I don't see why you should expect to not get paid because the staff member refused to give her name. I would go ahead as normal, a full description of the staff member should be sufficient. I would also ring GR asap on Tuesday.0 -

GR are usually pretty reasonable, so you may be OK, linz.
I did one of these yesterday. Really awful customer service! The MoS had a lanyard, but the badge was facing the wrong way. He wasn't keen to divulge his identity, either. In the end, I did what the brief said, and asked for a quote (for the three items recommended to me, none of which could be demoed because the batteries were flat). Lovely quote: it shows the MoS's first name and surname!0 -
I did a job today for gapbuster- they phoned me on thursday and asked me to do it as they are "running out of month" its the first one I've done for that client and the notes say to get a quote AND a business card. There were no business cards out and I could clearly see her name on the badge. I asked if she had a card with the contact details on and she said its all on the top of the quote...:exclamati
The report doesnt ask if I was able to get a card, only a quote (which I got no probs) but I now have to submit a photo of the 2 items. Shall I just send the quote and see if they come back to me? Or email them? Or will they be happy with the one? Grrr hate it when it doesnt go quite to plan. Was a great MS otherwise0 -
i also did the gr camera dhop today, my guy had his lanyard in his pocket! i asked if he could write down the details for me (assuming i would get a quote) but i got a scabby bit of receipt! he told me his name though, service was ok. i actually went there last week and bought something and had very good service:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j0

I know there's a button for "Thank you" but I thought this one deserved a personal one.0 -

I did mine earlier in the week. No lanyard worn. At the end when I asked if he could write down the name of the cameras he'd shown me, he said "Oh, yes, I'll print you a quote and get a brochure". So he went out the back, came back with the quotes, a brochure .... and a lanyard round his neck, turned with his name clearly visible :rotfl::rotfl:
