Yes and I hate it when the follow up calls come .. and the person has been so helpful in giving information on booking a function, or hotel room, or opening a bank account, and then you have to bluff your way out of it.

I usually tell them to call at a time when I'll be out so they get the answerphone!!!

The worst were the self-storage quotes I did last year. I did several, some by phone, some by email. I was getting calls for weeks after! So annoying!

It's better to answer those ones, ruddy persistent.
I usually say I've had some bad news and can't commit or make a decision at the moment but will call back when I am ready. Most leave me alone then...seems to put them right off phoning back.

Years ago I can remember giving a car dealer my real number and he rang every few months for about 3 years. My husband answered one day and told him I had left him! Worked a treat.

I have a designated MS phone for the call backs now. Got a free sim from O2 and use it in one of my daughters cast offs. If its not a call back assignment I change a digit or two. Apologies to all those people out there that get odd calls asking for me!:rotfl:

Don't give them your real number.

You need to give them your real number on some though don't you as you have to give feedback on follow up calls?

That's such a good idea. I've got a spare SIM or 2 and I'm sure I've an old handset knocking around somewhere. I'll do that in future. Thanks Rosy!!!

Thanks TG & RV. I've had the same with a self storeage one, I recognise the number now when he rings. I'll answer next time and use the bad news excuse I think, getting the OH to answer is a good one too :rotfl: I do feel bad sometimes though when you've really got on with the person and they've given you brilliant service. I guess they will get rewarded with a good report though.

With follow up calls I tend to go with "my husband's just found out he's being made redundant, so all out plans have changed". Nobody can really argue with that, including my fictional hubby!

You do get used to making things up don't you. I almost believe my own stories sometimes! I was really tempted to buy a coffee machine the other week and I don't even like coffee!

I almost bought an electric oven once! Stupid thing is, ours is gas!

I've only had one job that entailed a call back and I just let it go to voicemail.

Must try and find some time to get MS'ing again! :)

I think I've made the mistake of giving everyone my real number. I'll start giving a false number on the ones that you don't need to comment on the callback. Best get on with my reports (whilst eating the posh chocolate I got today). Thanks for the advice.

I think we have probably all started out making this mistake.
And the buying things we shouldn't. I bought a wigwam for my granddaughter today! There goes my profit!

I have just submitted my ESA assignments as well and was wondering the same thing. It gave me a survey confirmation no then disappeared. I guess this is normal. This is my first job for them this year so I can't remember what happened last time. Did the job go well? Did you enjoy it? :j

I think this is normal - they do say somewhere in their 'bumpf' that you can't view the report after its submitted. I write the confirmation number down now - took me a few reports before I noticed it! (doesn't say much for my observation skills but my excuse is I was obsessed with doing the report right and was just glad the b***** thing finally 'sent' itself!
