  • What a lovely evening! Picked up a MS for Italian Bros restaurant so said I would "treat" Hubby! Logged on to RE just before I left and someone had dropped a pub right next door to the restaurant! How lucky was that.

Absolutely loving Msing - not making a great deal out of it but have so much fun doing it!! Does anyone else see it as a hobby as well as a way to earn a few extra pennies?

Found that I'm noting names/times etc in shops not I'm not supposed to me MSing though!! Funny.

Hope you're all having a lovely weekend

If you give false info on a MS and are expecting a call back, don't forget to tell the other people in your household.

I did some phone shops a couple of weeks ago, and had to enquire about an iPhone. One shop told me about the different versions and I got out of the sale by saying I was collecting the information for my husband and I wasn't sure if he would want to go for the version 3 or wait for version 4 coming out.

Forgot all about until until I came in a few days later and my husband ended up listening to her sales pitch! Luckily he realised what had happened and he told her he'd made a mistake with his contract length and was on an 18 month instead of 12, so he'd come back to her in 6 months time!

Busy doing some financial comparison website jobs at the moment and I'm giving a false name on each so I can track any follow up phone calls from the external finanical providers. The family now have a list of fake people who live here if the phone rings :rotfl:
Here I go again on my own....
  • In case noone has noticed their announcement, Retail Active are changing their payment procedure and we no longer have to send them an invoice in order to be paid.

Thanks TG for the AA link!

LATP - thanks for the confirmation about Retail Active, just done my first jobs for them so good to know!

In line with the phone calls etc, I managed to put myself on my banks radar for a loan. So I keep getting monthly letters offering me a loan now!

Can anyone tell me if ABAi still send cash payments or did I read recently that they were changing to BAC payments?

That is actually very VERY incorrect.
The fees clients pay have to cover a darn sight more then just the mser fees. Not to mention much how much cost is involved by those msers who constantly re-schedule & cancel visits.

The difference between what msers are paid and what the client pays is a very small margin (especially in a declining economy where agencies have to be more competitive and where clients budgets are being cut left, right & centre).

Sorry folks for dragging the troll up again, but surely this is utter b*ll*cks - the fees the MS companies get must be a hell of a lot more than they pay me, 'cos I certainly can't afford to employ staff on what they pay me...and especially not staff who frequent online forums when they should be working! :rotfl:

You'll probably get paid in cash for the next job you do for them, but you'll also get a letter saying they are switching to BACS and you'll have to provide them with your bank details...

You don't have to wait for your next payment. Log into your account and click on the link on left hand side & enter your details. When they send a payment they'll email you instead of sending a letter. They still pay separately for each MS you do & you'll get an email for each payment.

Got a bit frustrated with a report I was doing today for a MS company I haven't worked for before. Easy report (no explaining your yes/no, but a long narrative) and had a sample narrative to guide me. Made sure I used the right wording for 'sales assistant' etc. Did my report & it was looked at quickly, but got a message back saying I needed to change a lot as I'd used the gender of the sales assistant. Checked the sample report again & they'd used gender throughout. Sent a polite email back saying I'd change it, but pointed out the above suggesting that their sample report needed changing. They're now going to report that back to the company. I can't believe no-one else has had the same problem or pointed it out. Never mind. At least I was able to change the 2nd report before it went in. I got a 9 and a message saying it was a very good report so it can't have been too much of an issue.
