Sorry if this is a stupid question but is there somewhere on GAP that lists any pending payments? If so, could someone tell me where to find it?

Thank you for any advice x

Unfortunately not. However you're looking at payment for jobs completed between 1st and 30th April. So if you go to your "my assignments" page you can tally up everything there.

I also don't have to pay NI since I could claim under the small earnings clause but... I choose to pay them because it give rights to certain benefits in the future should you ever need them.... so if this is your only source of income you may wish to pay to protect yourself for the future? I am sure someone more clever than I will come along and give reasons to pay - and if you already have a job you may have to pay on any second earnings as well as a matter of course (or you may not  I'm sure again someone will know the answer to this:)

This is a good webpage for answers - http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/moneytaxandbenefits/taxes/beginnersguidetotax/dg_4015904

It's always a good idea to pay NI in one way or another. If being self employed is your only income then I recommend paying, if you have another PAYE job that you pay regular NI on then you can still get a small earnings certificate if you plan to earn less than £5k ish.

With regards to Gap, we know how much is coming in and when its getting paid because some of us are using HSBC accounts, which have a "Pending transactions" feature, we can see whats being paid in and out tomorrow!

Use the MS Logger made by ukmonkey, its helpful for keeping track of payments!

I thought I'd have seen at least one by now, going by how many alerts there are for them!

I'd email them again, I can see nearly 100 jobs in my local area

Speaking of which, imagine how much the sandwich client is paying in rent with all those shops in London! :rotfl:

Ah, but if you're claiming Child Benefit and are the main claimant then you automatically get HRP (Home responsibilities protection) which covers your NI during your "child rearing years".
Obviously I dont what sex you are so this may not be applicable.

SORRY GUYS - just posted on the ALERTS thread by mistake... have deleted it now, but sorry anyway!!

What I was saying: I can only see the same old rubbish on RE (I have 20 jobs showing, approx half of those are out of date airport jobs and the rest are pubs nowhere near me, a wedding phone call/visit nowhere near me and a couple of posh sandwiches miles away). My defined area is pretty big and covers 4 large cities and lots of big shopping centres. But I never see any jobs there. Don't think I've ever seen a coffee shop on there.

Surely they can't be being snapped up EVERY time?!

It's very frustrating. I know I asked the question a while back when they called about something else - the girl I spoke to then reeled off loads of jobs which are 100s of miles away and asked if they were any use. No, not really ;-)
