That's a bit harsh then not to pay you! As long as you did speak to them then it's hardly your fault that the staff member couldn't be bothered. And yes, it does certainly defeat the object!0 -

I had one a while back. The MOS didnt even get out of his chair to speak to me.Fat lazy slug had no interest in serving me.I tried a few questions but he wasnt biting.
I put it in my report and was told that I hadnt done enough to draw him out.
It is what it is and at what point does it become a totally artificial exercise?
In this instance I believe that it is the MS company that vetoes critical reports and not the client. In my instance it was a newish client for a small MS company and I think politics dictated that it could not go through.
Anyway as a business I was out of pocket on that and learnt the lesson.
There are some companies that will take a critical report,Grassroots,TNS,React,Bare,Abai.
And there are some who will not - Gap being the biggest offender. My view is to give the customer what they want and if these customers want a bland three monkeys report then just give it to them, or dont work for them.
Perhaps we need to add a rating to the companies on the opening post relating to how honest you can be.0 -

I replied to the e mail immedaitely but they have docked me 5 points! Cheeky so and so's. Don' t give a damn, I have nearly 4000 points and very rarely do ms's for them just audits but bloomin' cheek! Next time they call (which they regularly do) think I maybe too busy to help out.
The questionaire is (no surprise) configured wrong.
I 'lost' 5 points (who cares ) on my last job and asked why.
Some of the questions DO require an answer\comment BUT do NOT show in red if you haven't filled out the comment box.
So you can happily complete the Q's without any RED errors and still get penalised.
In the end the scoring system is not used so don't worry.:D0 -
OH did a job for TNS, stood right in front of the sales person at the desk who refused to look up from his paperwork. Another Sales person when a customer approached stated I can't help you and walked off. TNS refuse to pay as did not do enough engagement although prior to standing right in front of the sales person OH spent a lot of time browsing.
Live and learn and fortunately not too much of a fee lost along with petrol, but myself surely a huge multinational company would rather know how their staff behave and ignore customers but TNS state that the company would not pay for the report! No Matter what you do there will be critics.0 -
Thats pretty shabby. My grimmest experiences with tns jobs have been the diy jobs.Thick staff or no staff and crap service.I list it all and never get a query.0

IMHO I would 'phone TNS and explain.
Unless I c*ck up I expect to be paid. Not your fault the MOS wasn't playing.
And after they pay you I'd dump them
I used to work fot TNS a long while back, never again.0 -
re diy jobs- Last week I did one with no staff anywhere.I sat down on the garden furniture for about half an hour and didnt even get a nod.Managed to read this thread and book a few jobs during it.0

Had my first floor show at a Gap burger today (the one I was having trouble finding via postcode yesterday). Had the manager pop in to help the 'crew' member take my order, then I'd barely sat down when she came to check my food was okay, then another guy came to check it was okay, the whole team were clearing tables just as fast as people got up from them and the manager herself was actually *waiting* to take my rubbish as I stuffed it all back in the bag! It was hilarious! :-)
On another note, that new watch assignment on ESA... their sample comment is AWFUL! Apart from the fact it's incredibly sycophantic, it has numerous grammar and punctuation errors! I could hardly believe what I was reading!I'm broke, not poor. Poor sounds permanent, broke can be fixed. (Thoroughly Modern Millie)

I always thought ESA to be very fair, I've never had a query from them before. I do wonder if the query they raised today which resulted in my non payment was because of the date. I received a call a couple of hours after I had done the MS to say the dates had changed, I said I had already done the shop and was told it was OK. I now wonder if they are just getting out of payment because they now have the 're shop' listed for the new dates.:(0

Sorry to ask again but are the watches self assign on Esa. They phoned me up for a job last week but I could not do it at all. I am now wondering if they have taken my self assign away (but the shops they wanted me to do where a good hour plus drive each way but the person was not happy that I was not willing to do them. I tried to explain that I had to be at the children's school that afternoon). I just want to know whether they are punishing me for declining their work.No Matter what you do there will be critics.0
