  • My dress is £660, bought new (I know, not very MSE!)
My budget was £700 for dress, shoes, underwear, accessories! WHOOPS! Lol. Plus I'm having it customised as well so that's blown that out the water :-s
I am trying to be MSE everywhere else though...

Well my dress wasn't very MSE, but in fairness I bargained really hard for freebies with the venue and getting upgrades, and I've decided to not have floral centrepieces to save on money even though I love flowers. So time to stop waffling I spent £1160 on it, it was £1400 but negotiated a discount. I tried over 50 dresses on, and I really did try to find something that was as reasonable, but thinking about it the skirt has five layers and the top is lace and it's handmade in Devon by a British designer, so hey ho sometimes you get what you pay for. My aunt purchased my veil and the combs that are going in my hair, they were £160 in total. My shoes were £120. My necklace was a fiver on e bay though!
I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off :o

  • My dress was £705 and bought new - I was torn between 2 dresses and the other was £1,600 and whilst hubby said he didn't care how much I spent, I ended up going for the more traditional dress and the price did play a part too.

I spent a fortune on accessories though, I guess you get carried away a bit when they are putting stuff on you in the shop.... I easily came in at around £1,200 when you added on shoes, tiara, veil, alterations, underwear, hoop hire...

Wow, thats great!!! Go for it, and you will feel amazing in your dress! The days I have struggled with my diet, I just imagine myself in my dream dress, and it gives me the motivation to keep going!

My dream dress is £1049, so way above my £300 budget. However I too am losing weight (6 stone - am 2 stone down, another 4 to go) and my mum and dad have said they will give me some money towards me dress as a reward, to help me get my dream dress, as they know how much the weight loss means to me. My mum and dad are ace!

Ps the dress I want is Alessandra by Forget Me Not. For the life of me I cant find a decent pic though. I love the detail on the bodice, and the colour!
