Im surprised the instructor hasnt suggested/organised another instructor in the area
I would expect them to know some other instructors0 -
For your information I am not on here moaning about it, I'm asking for advice.
This forum is for money savers to save money, directly or indirectly. Whilst I sympathise with your son's predicament and you are understandably angry about it, your thread does not have any reference to saving money, just to enquire whether to report somebody. Regardless of the answers in the affirmative or otherwise, reporting would not solve your son's problem or save you any money at all.
It appears you are just venting steam which isn't constructive.0 -
If the instructor had dropped this on your son the day before the test I would say its unproffesional. To me, 9 days is plenty of notice and your sons case is exceptional in that he doesn't live where he has the lessons and only has a small time window in which to take the test.Is it not possible to have it locally during the holidays in the summer?Surely he is familiar with the local roads so might actually be more comfortable driving on them.
I do have sympathay for your son but I think people are far too quick to complain about things that aren't that serious in the grand scheme of things. If the DI was cracking open cans of Stella while instructing then yes, but surely its better to try and get a resolution with the DI 1st rather than telling tales? Its someones livelihood you are threatening and shouldn't do so lightly.0 -
I think he has behaved terribly and totally unprofessionally. What he is saying is that not only is he unavailable but that his car, the one the learner has gotten used to, is also unavailable. He should have found someone to stand in for him and with the same type of vehicle.
The trouble with driving instructors is that the test is usually the end of the relationship. I never saw mine again after I drove home afterwards.0 -
It's likely that the bride, groom and their families have had a go at the instructor in their panic. Lots of people forget little things at weddings and then magnify them at the last moment.
I would expect the driving instructor to find someone else to cover for him. I suggest your son phone him up and ask if he hasn't. Then if he doesn't respond/give others details within 48 hours then take further action.I'm not cynical I'm realistic
