    Hi everybody,

    Happy birthday Cranky and ESMF.

NPM I hope that you manage to get something sorted for DS. When I worked at a school there was a boy with Aspergers who used to attach himself to a teacher who was working in their classroom so that he wouldn't have to go out but he was twelve, not six.

Jackie, ouch. I hope you've told the HA that yau are keeping a note of the incidents and the complaints and that if anyone suffers a serious injury from falling on the steps there will be an immediate claim, that should concentrate their thoughts.

OS tonight is tackling the ironing cliff which is about to topple and bury me without trace. DH will be at badminton. We are having chicken marinaded in bone-suckin sauce with rice and veg for dinner.

Jackieglasgow - ouch! "I don't know, what do you want me to do?" indeed! Bit of anti-slip tape on the steps might help as a temporary measure! What do they want you to do, break something? Is it just your house or are there others with the same problem you could gang up with?

Been to see the doc today, got myself some different hayfever meds to try. It's a right nightmare, I hope these pills are good. Anyone know of any good tips? I seem to have tried all the advice the infamous 'they' give you, plus I'm off to a festival again this summer and being sat in a field for days on end always makes it kick off!

Edit: Ooh, birthdays? Happy birthday! Don't eat less than your bodyweight in cake!

Just made the most gorgeous sausage rolls for DS1s party on Saturday. Puff pastry and sausage meat in the freezer from ooops section, minced pork, sage & onion stuffing and chopped up apple - Ok so it leaked all over the oven, but it is yum yum. Also have managed to borrow a HUGE cake tin to bake the birthday cake in. By comparison, I have got an exceedingly small smarties cake for the 5 of us to share. So we might all get a crumb!

Had a good couple of hours sleep this afternoon, so feeling slightly more human! Jacket pots and cheese for tea - and a probable trip to the vets as my 11 month old puppy is currently investigating a bumble bee on some clover. OOOOPs I think she might have eaten it by the sound of her coughing!
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.

Thanks for all tha pats on the bottom! ;) I am still in a lot of pain, and am taking some leftover tramadol from when I slipped down them late last year and fractured my coccyx. I don't know how to spell that. I had to call the HA back and tbh I feel as if she wasn't interested, this particular women is never very helpful, but her boss, who is the person I really need to discuss it with, wasn't in today.

I have spoken to a couple of neighbours, who agree with me that the stairs are slippery, but as I am the only one who's had an accident, I'm the only one to complain, so they have to treat it as an idividual problem. I might doorstep the neighbours tomorrow if I'm up to it. I am also going to find out who the manufacturer of the stairs is, as apparently, they came preformed, and find out what the suggested application is. OH thinks they may be "unfinished" and be designed to be tiled or similar. Moan over.

Who was it that suggested I come here and annoy you lot while he's away? JC I think, you'll all have to blame her for me going on so. Sorry:o

    Afternoon all,

    Happy birthday Cranky and Esmf.

JackieG....ouch! Obviously the steps are too smooth....there are lots of remedies that the HA could use, paint with sand in it would be the easiest, it might not last but is the easiest, I have also seen 'things' you put on the edge of the steps which allegedly help....no idea what you call them. Keep after them though, as falling down steps is very dangerous...the least of the problems being arthritis in later life.

OH is having dinner he didn't eat yesterday and I have taken some cooked chicken out of the freezer to have with peas and yesterday's leftover potatoes fried to heat them up, so a very OS dinner to-day.

Went to get dog food this morning and ended up spending more money on plants....no more now, I mean it! Then went to a nearby Clerys shop and spent €48....new sheets and duvet cover for one of the spare rooms, nothing I have matches anything in there, couple of bits to put in present cupboard, jug and 6 glasses(€5) and was just looking at new duvet for spare room when assistant said "you can have one of those as you have spent more than €40" very pleased, only summer weight but think it will be fine, most visitors are here in summer anyway. Am thinking anyway that I am going to buy thin duvets from now on as they can be washed in the machine...can even put two in a cover if necessary.

Need to get the plants into boxes and baskets asap, it was overcast this morning but OH has now stripped off his sweater, which is a sure sign that it is warm!

Hugs to Diva, Ladygrim, PP and anyone else in need of one.

    Marie
