Hi there! This is the Old Style Daily Thread for Tuesday 18th May.It is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good

Morning folks.

Cloudy and muggy day in store. Nothing much to report. Work was fairly quiet, so left a bit early and got home to package up some e-bay stuff. Sold 4 items for very good prices, so that was great.

Poly tunnel finished and all on the go. I put the first 2 plants in just to Christen it so to speak. I also found the compost heap had done it's job and there is compost in it, so I shall use some of that to offset the cost of filling larger pots.

Work at 0800, so hope we get some thing interesting come in... Sorry can't say much else.

Goodness you're up early - don't tell me that you have a DS who woke you about 4.30 with "Mummy, my beds wet" at the top of his voice too!! Hows the polytunnel?

Got my new (freecycled) sideboard yesterday - heavy oak and huge, just gorgeous. Had two not so good pieces of news yesterday though - OH says he's not in a position to ask questions about when we're next moving (supposed to be 2 months time) and my cleaner says shes looking for another job already. Shes become such a friend I'll miss her heaps. On the plus side my coffee is gorgeous this morning, and I get the feeling I'll be drinking a lot of it today!

WM and DW to go on when people are up and about, Mr T delivery last night, so no shopping to do - just walking the dogs and coping with tantrums today I think!! Best of luck to all who follow x
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.

:bdaycake::bdaycake: Happy Birthday to Cranky, Problbly a bit of a sad day for you hun, but i hope you can enjoy it a bit xx

Looks like its going to be a nice day here, meant to be getting up to 24 tomorrow :D, it was beautiful here yesterday, and I have found that our garden is a sun trap ;)

Off to work today, so will have a quick tidy in the kitchen, Have made myself a cheese and salad sandwich to take with me.

Muchroom omlette tonight with bread and butter and salad, will try and make some twinks if I have time.

DD had her interview last night and got on very well, they have some beautiful plants there, and I was so tempted, but we need to replace the fence before I can plant too much, so will have to wait for now.

OK have good days all xx

Morning all, not managed to be on here much the last few days, don't know where the time goes!

Friends came last night with a takeaway which was a really big treat, nearly as good as DS2 arriving to collect his kilt for 'graduation parties'. He gets his results this afternoon at 4pm so I will be getting more and more wound up as the day goes on. I think I get in more of a state than him!! He's still here just now and leaving soon to wait all day at Uni!!

Will catch up later when I get back from work.

    Have a good Wednesday all.

Sunny and bright here this morning and the forecast says we should have a good day, we'll have to wait and see.

Had a very quiet and productive night last night, OH at his meeting so once we'd had dinner I tackled the ironing mountain - have started to do the ironing in our bedroom and then put it into the relevant rooms (hopefully for DS's to put away!).

Work was quiet yesterday too, I think everyone was enjoying the sunshine and not worried about telephoning us.

Have had a nice surprise this morning, last week I gave WTC our final income figures for last year and have had some money put in the account this morning - I haven''t had any correspondence to say what this money relates to or how much I'll be getting from now but our income was substantially less last year than the previous several years.

Have also already got a line of washing out to make the most of the good weather. I remembered to get the chicken out of the freezer last night, so tonight we are having roast chicken, potatoes, carrots, broccolli, green beans, peas, yorkshire puds and gravy, oh nearly forgot and sage and onion stuffing too!

Just have to work until lunch time today and then my paid working week is done but have lots of jobs to do as always.

Not much OS to report, have a good day everyone.

Keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

Thanks for the birthday wishes Redruby. Tomorrow would have been Paul's birthday and our 8th wedding anniversary, so that makes the whole week a bit sad. At least it's all over with in one week though.

George bought me a lovely necklace and bracelet, and some chocolates. He was road testing the chocolates by 6:45am this morning. He wanted birthday cake for breakfast, but I told him he had to wait for the cake until this evening or at least until after I have blown the candles out.

    Take care all of you

    Morning Everyone,

bday2.gifCranky, hope you and George have a fantastic day, filled with happiness and good memories! Oops cross posted.

Not so lovely here today, it's been raining a bit overnight, too. DS1 looking a lot brighter today thank goodness, DS2 his normal cheery self. I am tired though.

Inside the house all day today because of the weather and will be tackling the ironing mountain I think and chucking some of the boys' grown out stuff. I need to bake some sort of cake I am having withdrawal symptoms, but I'll be good and freeze it. In fact, I have some sad bananas so I will do a banana walnut loaf. Dinner tonight will be gnocci of some description, and lunch wil be leftovers from last night.

Fingers crossed for Camelot's DS I remember that day well. Hope everyone else is well, and good wishes to those who are MIA.

Happy birthday Cranky :) hope you have a lovely day, oh and by the way it's always ok to have cake for breakfast, especially on birthdays :rotfl:

Boo it's raining here, I had planned on walking to work today too. It's drizzle rather than rain, but I'll take the car anyways. I'm off out straight from work so it's a bit easier for me. I'm meeting the girls for dinner.

I'm still waking up the time I would when I was working in other office so have half hour spare in the mornings. I've washed dishes and emptied bins this morning.

    Have a good day all
