I don't doubt that you can post.

I however cannot. I'm not really sure why you are posting these pictures. What i need to know is how to verify my account, not what yours looks like.

but i have done exactly what you can
the only issue i can think is if you are using webmail and they want extra verification

that must be it. i use hotmail.

if hotmail isn't trusted then perhaps telling the user he requires additional verification would be a start.

Wishface, I've verified my account using my mobile and I have never had one dodgy message or phone call, from anybody. So I think you'll be safe. Or have you got a spare sim card you could pop in your phone just for this? It's a pain and I don't think they should enforce it, not everybody has a mobile after all.

I don't own a mobile phone of any kind, shape or form.

It can't be that facebook doesn't work with hotmail because it has hotmail apps and allows you to input your hotmail details to find other users to add as friends from your contact list!

On the facebook help centre, you can ask questions, might be worth posting on there and see if somebody can help you?

ive tried sending them a help request, but they haven't responded yet. There's nothing in there help database that covers this.

i notice that in the account settings i have to verify by sms as well if i want to set a username (as opposed to my real name). The only alternative is to do it later though it doesn't explain how.

really this is pretty badly designed.

Well that's it. FB just doesn't seem to want to work. I don't understand this at all. The help centre is hopeless and they don't seem to want to respond to my emails. I can't even deactivate my account and start again because it just says 'there's already a user with that email' - no there isn't, i just deactivated it !!!!!!!

    Thanks anyway.
