How do i verify without a mobile phone? There is no visible option I can see to do this. I've alrady confirmed the account via email, but this seems to be somethign different.

If you've verified by email, you can now go ahead and use the account. You don't need to use a phone.

Have you checked your emails? You should have one that says "click here to verify account" or something along those lines.

I haven't verified the account, i've confirmed it. There seems to be a difference otherwise why is it asking me to confirm my account via mobile (the only option it gives me) whenever i try to add a comment. There seems to be nothing i can do until i somehow verify my account - and there seems to be no other way to do this but use a phone.

The only emails i got were 'welcome to facebook' and 'just one more step to use your account' which included the confirmation link. Nothing else (and yes i checked my junk folder )

It should be okay if you've done the "one more step" thingy?

I just read that if you haven't verified your account by mobile, a word verification box will pop up when you want to comment, poke somebody etc. You can still post though.

Do you get that?

yes; it pops up when i try to submit comments (jhaven't tried this poking lark yet) and when i click 'ok' (the other option is to verify which, as explained, i can't) it doesn't submit the message. I can't submit the message without this verification it seems.

And custardy, as i said, i have confirmed the account. Confirming the account is not verifying it (according to facebook it seems). That's the point.
