But you wouldn't be hacking it, you would have been given the password. And i have no idea who you are. Your post count means nothing to me, you could be anyone for all i know. Obviously you aren't going to say you are going to !!!! around with my account, but how would i know what you intend to do with it. It doesn't have to be anything illegal or dangerous to be inconvenient. That you have asked i give you that information however totally renders you untrustworthy to begin with; if you were you wouldn't ask someone who doesn't know you to trust you with their password. Treating it as a joke only makes you more of an idiot in my opinion.

lol, should i make that my my FB status?

you are clearly doing something wrong. perhaps you are clicking on things related to useing the site with a mobile phone and that is why it is asking you to verify that way.

No, I signed up for a new facebook account and it made me verify with a mobile phone before it would let me add friends, post on other people's walls, send messages or join groups. There is no option to verify any other way.

(the phone number is fake btw ;))

I didn't have to do this when I originally signed up 3 years ago, I just had email verification back then.

Yes, like most people. These days it's a minority of people who use a fixed POP email account, what with people chopping and changing ISPs all the time. Don't have the exact figures to hand but hotmail, yahoo mail and gmail users vastly outnumber those using ISP email addresses.

Facebook do seem to be pretty random about which accounts they enforce the verification on. I have two fake FB accounts, both created on the same day last year, both with @gmail addresses - one required mobile verification, one didn't.

but i have done exactly what you can
the only issue i can think is if you are using webmail and they want extra verification

There's nothing to defend; if webmail applications were conditional - they'd advertise the conditions. They don't, and they allow hotmail users to search for friends through their account directly in facebook.

Please, dont get involved in grown up talk
verifying an account and finding 'friends' via email addresses is different.
anyway you wont be using the friend finder service as it requires you to give your email log in details to Facebook
