Apple ipod Shuffle 512MB £29 @ Asda

Currys & PC World have a Logic Orbit 1gb MP3 player at £29 in store. Brand new. Web price is £39. But the funny thing is that the 512mb is £45. Has rechargable battery, a must.

I got my iPod Shuffle for £31 from John Lewis. There is a £20 discount code on the codes forum and the delivery was within two days. Plus I have the fantastic John Lewis guarantee.

The shuffle is fab and seeing as though Asda have depleted their stocks this is the next best thing.

Yep, they gave this as the reason they wouldn't/couldn't price match!

Even rang Cumbernauld myself when I got back just to check that the reluctant section manager hadn't tried to fob me off and thay have definitely run-out.

If any one lives near merseyside, Asda in Huyton, Knowsley as of this afternoon had 57 shuffles in stock priced at £29.99. Price was showing on the shelf front aswell.
Also I know for a fact Asda will not price match between their own stores as each manager has his/her own promotions so waste of time asking your store to match it.


Also if you are lucky and you can find one they are also doing a very good pc AMD 3000+, 100gb, DVD+/- etc with 17" TFT for £249 reduced form £380. With staff discount £225. I have tried a few asdas but no stock

Rang my Asda back after section manager telling me earlier they couldn't price match cumbernauld "as they had none in stock" directly indicating that if they had them in stock then she would have price matched. Spoke to the same person and told her Huyton had them in stock at £29.99 and she then said no because they "can't price match local offers". I argued that she should have told me that earlier as I've now spent the last hour on the phone etc... locating some based on what she told me. She offered to knock £5 off as a goodwill gesture. Not happy with that as I can still get cheaper from currys, she put me through to her manager who agreed to knock £10 off bringing the price to £39.99.

Quite pleased with that. Will try and get one elsewhere cheaper if I can, if not I can go and pick up my £39.99 one at anytime as they have written it in "The Book".

Just wish that people would tell you it straight first time round instead of trying to pad round the corners with excuses. In this case it worked in my favour as if they hadn't messed me around I wouldn't have got my bargain - or in this case my son's bargain.

Gonna make one soon to be 11 year old very happy!

well they must have sold 56 in since 1pm. There is one on display but the stock scanner showed 56 in the wharehouse

Whoever I spoke to on the phone must have been itching to get off on tea break and couldn't be bothered to check!

Doesn't make a difference in my case whether they have 1 or 101 ipod shuffles, as you say she wouldn't price match anyway.

My point from earlier was that she should have just told me that in the first place rather that saying it was because there were none in stock. Oh well, says smug me!

At least you MSE'ers living in Huyton will be able to get your hands on one!
