Apple ipod Shuffle 512MB £29 @ Asda

What's the deal?
Many people have reported 512Mb of iPod Shuffles on offer for £29 in Asda. After chatting this through with the Asda press office, it reports this was only in a selection of stores; those where there was an excess of stock.
This price is extremely good for a Shuffle, but there's no guarantee you'll find one. Thus rather than heading out to your Asda, its more of a 'if you're going, take a looksy."

To be honest apart from the fact it has white headphones there nothing to recommend the shuffle over el cheapo mp3 players.
The ipod interface to itunes is what makes ipods special, itunes is good, the ipod interface is good but together they are fantastic.
The shuffle gets rid of most of the funtionality of this, plug it in and get up to 100 songs at random from your collection, or load it with up to 100 favourites, which you can play in order or randomly.
Best as has been stated to buy them and ebay them to make the money to buy a nano...0 -

...but for £30ish they are a bargain, recently picked one up from another retailer selling refurbs for this price and am very pleased with it even though I have a nano. No display granted, but brings up a nice little autofill option in iTunes, better sound circutry than it's bigger brother the nano, smaller/lighter and more robust. Great minimalist player. I like... a lot! ;-)0 -
More robust than nanos, and no HDD so great for jogging. You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.0

Then you know very little about audio stuff. Shuffle and nano among all the other ipod range are well-known in the audiophile world for their outstanding sound quality.
Not only are their sound quality alot better then those cheapo mp3 players, its battery life is also tons better, and at this price, I would say is a bargain.0 -

John Lewis are doing them for £49+delivery and there is a £20 off code in the forums. £32.95. Not quite as good, but still a steal and you get JL's teriffic warranty.0
