Yes, I also watched this show, did you notice that they never answered their own question? Why are we being charged so much?

I think we all know the answer to this! All they think about is profit, not the fact that they are putting people into fuel poverty!

  • Does anyone know roughly how many units a week of electricity they use? I'm not really sure what the average weekly usage is, I have been watching my meter very closely over the past week and reckon when the week is up tomorrow we will be on about 110 units, not sure if that is good x

You are doing well to be using that much and with 2 teenagers! I have 2 little ones. We have been so careful turning plugs off at night at the wall, but last night hubby left the tree lights on all night - wasn't impressed!!! Looks like I'd better work a bit harder next week and get it down even more x

We use an ave of 50 units a week , thats 2 of us and no heating. We had to get extra coal this week as its been below freezing for days and the snow isnt melting at all.. we arent going anywhere in this. And the back field is full of hungry pheasants and no gun in the house :(

:rotfl:I'd lend you ours but I don't think we'll be going anywhere either! (Looks as though poor DS5 will be missing his Chemistry test tomorrow:eek:)

So far in this house we've used an average of 15 units/day. We finally have gas but I don't know what to do with it (pathetic innit - poor country bumpkin!) so I'm still using the leccy for cooking and the boys are constantly using pooters, games consoles etc (to be fair, they HAVE to use the pooters for the A level work and if they didn't use the internet they wouldn't have a social life!)

The heating's gas and I'm afraid I've had it on for about 15 hours per day for the last week, since it's been so cold - though the boiler IS on its lowest setting. Trouble is my joints seize up if I get too cold...

    Last week you spent:
    • £12.08 on gas
    • £11.16 on electricity
Total you have spent on energy since starting imeasure (14 weeks ago):
    • £85.59 on gas
    • £115.20 on electricity
Wow- gas usage has really shot up. now having ch on most of the evening set @ 19c. I seem to have spent £3 more on elec this week as well- I have no idea where this increase consumption has come from,.
