    I've been Money Tipped!
Dont' even try to hold out until December, you are not well. You have got to put your health first.

Luckily we're all fit and healthy at the moment so we are holding out as long as possible (and having spent time in Sweden and Switzerland in December, the South East does not compare in terms of cold!!!)
    That's Numberwang!

Still no heating on here, the weather has been gorgeous the last few days, better than it was in August :j It won't last of course, but I'm making the most of it while it's here and it will make the coming winter seem a bit shorter.

I have been putting on fleeces in the evenings when it goes a little chilly, but I am determined to hold out until 1st November and even a bit longer if I can.

There is only me here so I don't have to listen to other people moaning that they are cold :rotfl: I grew up in a draughty old farmhouse with no central heating so I am quite hardy anyway.

Hi, I had a pneumonia jab a couple of years ago too, after having a spell on the respiratory ward for a week with a mystery resp problem (only 35 at the time), I was told that the jab lasts 10 years. I am currently off work with a mystery resp problem again (no chest infection or asthma attack) and my mum is hounding me to put my heating on saying that it's the cold, but I actually don't think it's that cold at the moment in fact it's warmer now than it was in September, and as I have night storage heaters I am really trying to hold out until November, although I don't think I'd manage to last until December like some are talking about.

    shezza, don't take a chance.

If you aren't well, put your heating on, even if it is a bit lower than normal.

Keep yourself warm and take care.

I had the pneumonia jab last week and they said it lasted a lifetime. I hope so because it made me really poorly for 2 days and no way am I having it again. If I were you I would put the heating on for half an hour a day just to warm it through. Could there be a bit of damp somewhere throwing out spores making you poorly??

OH was out late on Friday so I went to bed with my book at 7.30 and had a lovely time reading and keeping warm. No need to put the heating on at all!
  • It's been so lovely here today,I got all 4 loads of washing dried and ironed. We have'nt even got need for our fleecy throws this evening.
Just as well because that switch is staying in the off position.

Meant to have said yesterday...Tesco have a pack of two Remote Control sockets with a handset for £15 now...think they might have been £20 earlier.

The plug goes into the wall socket & you plug your--eg tv, microwave, etc into that bit. Then the conrol lets you turn the power on & off without having to physically reach the plug to pull it out. We don't have switches on our sockets so the whole bluddin plug has to come out each time  So this method also helps reduce 'Stand-by' with very little effort. HTH
