just been to look at my meter -- doesn't actually say 'metric', but it has three figures printed onto it which I guess are the capacity/tolerances (printed above the "wheels")
one quotes as m3/h, one as dm3/h and one as dm3

    Evening all!
How is the No-Heating-Till-The-First-November Challenge going?

We are still managing without any heating here, and we haven't even delved into our stack of fleeces yet.
I am even considering holding out until the 1st December ....

It's been a lovely hot day here.

No heating on, roast dinner in the oven, a nice chilled glass of sauvignon blanc beside me, a full moon shining in a clear evening sky.....

    I am even considering howling!!!!

had a quick glance at my reading while looking to see how I identified mine as metric to see if I could figure whether ours has been on or not since Tuesday.....

I forced it on for a couple of hours last Sunday as the house was feeling chilly with a vaguely 'damp' feel to it and DH is registered disabled, but other than that it's just on timer and thermostatic control. But as my daily average up to last Tuesday was 10 kWh, the previous week was 7kWh, and since last Tuesday we're back at about 7 I don't think it's kicked in this week ;)

Ok I am probably going to look really stupid here but how do you know what type of meter you have...?? Thanks for the tips so far btw.

My meter has ft2 (you know, feet squared) on it. As said, have a look on the bill - if the kwh are more than three times as much, it's imperial.

been a lovely day here too but windy and cold - was pure white this morning. I want you all to be careful and not silly (!) remember in the old days many many people got pleurisy and pneumonia !
  • You must live realy high up mardatha to have that kind of frost.Bet it looked lovely though.
Talking as you did of pneumonia, when I had my flu jab a couple of years ago I was given a pneumonia jab which they said lasted for life,so I hope that's the case.
Just seen the weather for tomorrow and it seems it's going to be another lovely day.So here's hoping I'll keep my fingers crossed as Monday I do all my washing and I can't stand using the dryer.I just love to see the washing blowing on the line.

All washing on the outdoor line today and well dried before tea-time. Just a couple of bits on the indoor airer (underwear and work t-shirts) and that's all dried now :D.

A bit more electricity save by not using the darn TD!

no heating at all yet, ziltch and in fact felt too warm in bed last night. I can`t believe that we are half way through october. Long may it last as it will save a lot of money

I've dried all my washing in my TD this weekend to see how much it costs me...Grand total of £1.18 :D I'm impressed. That amount of washing used to cost me somewhere in the region of £3 a time if not more at the laundrette or I had to put the fire & the gas heaters in the bedrooms on and have a house full of condensation so I'm much happier! :D That means that since I paid £172 for it (including delivery) that it should pay for itself financially by this time next year, but health & time wise (so much better now I don't have to sit in the laundrette for anything up to 2 hours!) its already paid for itself! :D:j It also means it warms the house up at the same time so I don't have to have the fire on ;)
