40 stone lady

Like has been said most at this weight are not working and do need help but they also have to want to do this, no amount of fat camps/slimming clubs etc will do any good until they put the effort in. For me the harsh measure of simply showing them their medical file with a bold DNR due to refusal to co-operate (and trust me it does happen) would do the trick. Once they realise that there is nobody to help them if they get into any problems then it will give them the boot up the backside they need.Approach her; adore her. Behold her; worship her. Caress her; indulge her. Kiss her; pleasure her. Kneel to her; lavish her. Assert to her; let her guide you. Obey her as you know how; Surrender is so wonderful! For Caroline my Goddess.0

Why did you edit your original post to take out your ranting reference to Caremark Leeds?
The Daily Mail article doesn't mention this organisation.
Do you have an axe to grind with Caremark Leeds?
Let's have the full story before you start throwing accusations.
I changed the original thread because its only what i heard and i would rather come back with facts.
I have never had an encounter with caremark so dont have an axe to grind with them no, however if they were caring for this lady then they should be exposed.
And in terms of accusations, i cant post links as a new member, but im sure that you knew this already.0 -

I meant you accusing Caremark Leeds in your initial post before you edited it to remove all reference to that organisation.
So, even if you could have posted a link there probably wouldn't have been reference to Caremark.
I have had no encounter with Caremark either, I just don't like rants that have no basis in fact.
Provide proof that Caremark Leeds were negligent and I'll accept it.
Reading through the link to the Daily Mail story, where exactly does it say the authorities (or anybody else for that matter) are to blame?
There's also a facility to say why you have edited a post - you could have given the reason in there.0 -
Sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind. 2 years ago a bloke near me sat in his garden, he is over 30 stone and quite a pleasant bloke, but he was moaning that his doctor wouldn't do anything about what they think may be a possible heart condition until he has lost a lot of weight, this he did not want to do as he is happy as he his. I then pointed out that when he has the almost inevitable heart attack, the paramedics who attend will have no chance of lifting him and by the time they get help and get him to hospital it will be too late. Seems he thought about this, he is now 17 stone after 20 months and still losing it and has thanked me for the harsh but wakeup call words.
Yes I think people forget the inherent risks of obesity. You gave this chap a real wake- up call which he needed by the sounds of things. If he were to have surgery, no anaesthetist would touch him with a barge pole; obese patients are very high risk people for undergoing a general anaesthetic.
I guess what I am trying to say is that usually when doctors/ surgeons advise on weight loss prior to surgery, it will be because they are deemed high risk (of mortality/ morbidity) patients. Hindsight is a wonderful thing...
:j One of Mike's Mob! yea!!!
Finally settled full balance of RBS personal loan ahead of schedule on 10th August 2010 :money:

No weightwatchers, jenny craig, atkins diet, stomach band, diets etc....NOTHING.
Just EAT LESS
Simples.
I really dont know why so many companies are making money out of the compulsive eaters. It is really really really simple - no books, no magazines, ads, clothing etc....
Just EAT LESS

However, obesity is a complex issue and is different from other addictions in that you need to eat to live.
Just because this is an area that all of you moral upright thin people have control over, not everyone does.
Obese people face the same addiction issues as alcoholics.
Please think before just being so judgemental.
I used to be obese but have shed a lot of weight and will face an uphill struggle to remain slim.It isn't as easy as you all think. xx
No doubt I am going to be told that they do eat healthy but I guarantee if they scoffed carrotts, broccoli, cottage cheese, pears etc their appetite would be sated without having to overdose on the calories.
The truth is they are addicted to tasty food and if they had to give it up, they can still survive by eating healthy.
Plus why is it that those struggling with being overweight think thin people find it easy to keep the weight off. I'm not fat but that is only because I exercise and stop eating even if I am still hungry. It is damn hard work ( especially resisting when I have a whole cheesecake in front of me)0 -
I think all of the local pizza and indian restaurants have confused my address with hers as I get a lot of menus posted through my door0

The obese are addicted to food so it is harder than giving up drinking and smoking because they need to eat to live. Does anyone else think this excuse is wearing a bit thin? It is forever trotted out to justify people gorging on chips, pies, chocolate, fizzy drinks etc. Well if they really are addicted to food, how come they don't eat as much fruit and veg as junk food?

Because they dont get the same hit from healthy foods0 -
Whilst I don't deny that some people have an 'addiction' how can any of this possibly be blamed on the authorities? I used to smoke but if I died from it would it be the authorities fault? nope, my own fault for smoking in the first place. I also needed to shift a bit of weight so I went to weight watchers (note to anyone else, quitting smoking and trying to lose weight at the same time is not a clever idea if you are sane!) and lost it and kept it off.
I do not expect anyone else to take the blame for the decision that I have made, yes there should be, and is, support available to help people resolve their addiction etc but you cannot blame any authority for a state that you get yourself into, addiciton or not. I've made plenty of bad choices over time but that's exactly what they were, my own choices. Really bugs me when to some people everything is somebody else's fault or responsibility.0
