    Whoops!! Hopefully the 2 Sues' will forgive me. Just think what it's like playing scrabble with them both at the same time. Better not touch that for a couple of days, else will be slaughtered. :o:o:o:o:o , now corrected.

    Just scanned yesterday's and Bitsy my DNephew got a blackout roller blind off ebay and said it was far cheaper than he had found locally.

    No idea to be honest, they have been together 3.5 years, and are happy together, but until her career takes off, I do not think they can plan at all.

    Afternoon all. Having a GREAT day here today. Not least because I sold a book on Amazon, have given something to a fellow OS'er AND have managed to find a GORGEOUS oak sideboard on Freecycle and get a removal company to pick it up for me. Doesn't sound very OS I know - but this will replace the teeny tiny cupboards that are in the kitchen that I've wanted to pull out for YEARS, but didn't want the expense of replacing.

    I'm going to tile the top (or put a piece of glass on it) so that I can use it safely as a chopping board. SOOOOOO excited. And its my birthday tomorrow, so I can justify this as my birthday present??!!!!

    Putting my veggies out in the sun this afternoon - so have to get on and clear the decks, as I've 16 6yr olds coming for a 2hr party this Saturday. Got to clear out anything I don't want them to touch, see or break!! Usually then works out perfectly fine - just hectic for a few hours!

    Enjoy the rest of your afternoon. xxx
    Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

    March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.

    Afternoon all

    Been a lovely sunny day here so far but clouding up now. I have been in Sheffield today at a seminar all about Pensions so missed the best of the weather but enjoyed the train ride there and back!

    Just had a very worrying phone call from OH, they have been doing increasingly short hours at work for the past few weeks and he has just rung to say they have made a quarter of the workforce redundant and the rest are going onto a four day week and maybe even a three day week:eek: He is not being made redundant at the moment but it is not looking too good and as we were just managing on a normal wage the drastic drop is going to affect us enormously. Cue severe belt tightening and many sleepless nights:( I thought we were supposed to be coming back out of the recession now????

    OS in short supply due to the "away day" but we are having HM fish and chips for tea with mushy peas - just coz it is nice and quick and easy and uses up some of the bags of breadcrumbs cluttering up my freezer!

    Then a walk in the park with the puppy I think. We took him to his first puppy training class last night and suffice it to say he was NOT the star of the class so we shall be practicing in the park. Thing is he does behave quite nicely at home and although extremely mischievous he will sit and stay (well for a little while) etc but when he was in the class yest with all the other puppies he got extremely excited and piddled all over the floor although he is completely house trained at home - oh the shame!!!!

    Right must make a start on tea. Enjoy your evenings all

    Work is manic as ever, just popped on to tell Taplady, that when I had problems with my mothers landlord, the CAB's advice was to call his bluff & offer to go to court over the money/repairs. I did, it worked & he backed off.

    I hope he's not trying to suggest he's married to a !!!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
    Let me know if its a good read :D

    nic1lou2 - sorry to hear things are a bit shakey for your H's work. Sadly I suspect things will get a lot worse before they get better as this mahoosive deficit needs to be paid back. Likewise with Greece etc all looking decidely dodgy I was suprised at people saying we were out of the recession :cool:
