Calling all ladies..............Engagement ring help needed

That's definitely an engagement ring. And you picked it yourself, which is a million extra brownie points.
Don't let her see the price of it, else she'll worry about wearing it.
ps. I wear my engagement ring on my right hand, because it's a funny shape, so don't worry too much if the wedding ring you want doesn't fit with it. If it's white gold the colour will wear off. Mine's going yellow on the palm side after 2.5 years. But to be honest, I don't really care, because it shows I love my DH by wearing it all the time. Our jeweller said that we could get it replated if we wanted to.0 -
Don't get hung up on what is and isn't an engagement ring. Mrs Imp is right...you picked it, she'll love it for that. Mine isn't a 'proper' engagement ring - it would generally be considered a dress ring but my OH bought it knowing I adore purple (it's got an amethyst in) and to be honest my engagement 'rock' was the Eiger...he whisked me off on a surprise trip to Switzerland and proposed up in the mountains. The ring may not be a patch on some others as rings go but I'd never change it for all that0

My ring is platinum with a lovely emerald cut diamond; I don't suit gold, and have always wanted a ring like this. My wedding ring is a plain platinum band. I couldn't love them more. It's a lovely ring OP but I've heard white gold can be quite 'soft' and doesn't rub well against other metals so either make sure you get a white gold wedding ring or get a platinum engagement ring (you can get them made in any good working jewellers and often they are actually cheaper than the high street chains).
It's a lovely ring OP and if your girlfriend will like it that's the most important thing of all! Good luck with the engagement

I love that ring....but what others have said need to be taken into account. Have you asked if they do any plain bands around the same shape?** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **
**SPC 2012 #1498 -£152 and 1499 ***
I do it all because I'm scared.

It's beautiful, and a good goldsmith can make you a wedding band to fit round it. My husband made my wedding band so my engagement ring slots into it.
Congratulations!0 -
Lovely ring :T
Mine is a similar shape and doesn't sit to well with my wedding band. But for the amount of time I actually wear them both together it makes no difference at all.
Congratulations by the way.
You cannot live as I have lived an not end up like me.

Whilst I think its a beautiful ring, I must admit I would err on the side of caution and let your girlfriend chose her ring..........Mr MOD's refusal to buy me any jewellery unless I'm there must finally sunk in,lol!
The reason I say that is that Christmas time I thought I loved a certain piece of jewellery until I actually saw it and then I realised I didn't even like it.....and if Mr MOD had bought it it for me.........
Personally I would go for the little girl's dressing up ring (the sort you get in princess' sets) - and I guarantee that that ring will be kept for ever and a day as well!2014 Target;

I let my son use my ring to propose, then they went and bought one they liked.
But that really is a beautiful ring, she will love it xxx

That's very very close to my engagement ring (the edges wrap round the diamond on mine) so of course I think it's perfect! We had no problem finding a shaped ring to fit - I think it H Samuels and Ernest & Jones had them (and these weren't the shops where he got the engagement ring from).
Not recommending this site but should put your mind to rest over finding a matching wedding ring

Any ring can be an engagement ring. Mine is a blue topaz with 3 small diamonds either side. I love it because he picked it out for me, knowing I would love it. Which I do.0
