Hi and well done!
If this refund was awarded on a settled account, I would think the refund should be paid directly to you.
If the other account is in arrears and they state they are refunding towards that one, you do have the right to argue that its a separate account, where you have already been deprived of your money from being mis sold the PPI and request they refund directly to you.
I would give them another ring to double check on this.
Good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Hi there
You could write back and tell them your not happy with their decision, despite their reasons not to uphold and offer you a goodwill, you strongly believe you were mis sold and want them to reconsider.
Tell them your giving them the opportunity to re-investigate or you will complain to the Financial ombudsman service where further charges will apply to them.
Hope this helps, good luck and ask that they respond by 7 days, and if you hear nothing by then you will of course continue to complain to the FOS with evidence of why you believe you were mis sold.
What reasons did they give not to uphold?

they just said they don,t think it was missold so why would they offer me a goodwill payment doesn,t make sense, are they trying to fob me off0
-
it does sound like a fob off,
a bank will not offer any money unless it feels it has to, not even as a gesture of goodwill.
i would do as Di suggests and query their decision
i had a final response from Lloyds offering me a goodwill gesture, as i was not happy with this i wrote back to them requesting they looked at my complaint poperly and have now been offered all of my ppi i paid back plus interest. it went from £560 goodwill gesture to £3.5k as a resulty of threatening to go to the ombusdman for the reason i stated in my complaint.
keep at them.I'm proud to say that the banks no longer take money from me after becoming debt free0 -
Hi Jimmy
Yes probably an offer of goodwill in hope you accept and don't go back to them, and like Robbedofmymoney, I have also been offered goodwill gestures, but I did not accept, wrote back and told them I didn't feel my complaint was investigated properly and overlooked, I made a few points out to them and also told them the FSA are punishing banks for not investigating properly and felt that mine was one of them.....
Within days they upheld all the way.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

ty di, can you give me pointers to say to them when i decline the offer0

Well basically, what I did was write to tell them I was not happy with the decision they made on our complaint of Payment Protection Insurance, told them I believe my case was overlooked and not investigated properly, and that I was not happy with the offer they made, due to the fact that we had already been deprived of our money as we WERE mis sold the policy - despite their findings and reasons to reject our complaint.
We should therefore have our complaint relooked at and upheld in our favour with the reasons previously given that should have been carefully considered and NOT rejected.
I then went on about the FSA are punishing banks who have not investigated complaints properly, where they could be fined due to this reason, and believe that ours is one of those cases.
I then told them - staff trained or not - the policy was NOT sold in our best interest, and it was clear they did not investigate the complaint properly as they missed many points made in regards of our PPI complaint, which were obviously not taken into consideration.
Jimmy write something similar if you want to, because its right that they do not investigate like they should do.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"
