No, that's not quite factually correct. Your protest of "It's not me who says the uw card is risky" is incorrect, as you personally say it often. As I initially requested, please outline the elements of risk associated with the card. As I have shown, it was not me who originally warned the card was risky.
It was the uw itself.
No uw reps ever have pointed this out to moneysavers here.
I have. It is now known as the risky card (bit like your triple guarantee is now know as the worthless guarantee).
End of.0 -
But.....what are the risks?
And please don't forget about my other question above - in post 890.
Many thanks in anticipation of your answers.

Ah, leaving all bile-fuelled hating aside (because it only feeds the trolls), please let him answer the questions put. Your post will only serve to give him something else to post about and thus attempt to avoid my questions.

Why has it all gone quite from the nay-sayers? I asked some simple questions that required something substantive to back up comments made, and I get nothing in reply. I can only conclude that the silence means that there is nothing substantive behind their words, thus they have nothing to say.
"UW's tariffs are high" - not disputed, but that's not the whole story, as has been pointed out. I'm still waiting to hear answers to my questions above.
"Risky UW Card" - refusals to explain how it is risky, we only get a "UW says it is" - problem is that when you make a statement, you should believe it, so why do you think it is risky?
I'm trying hard here to stimulate a sensible and adult debate based on facts and detail. The fact that it has all gone quiet would seem to suggest that I am the only one interested in having such debate and that Quentin and friends are only interested in making throw-away comments and generic remarks which, far from educating and helping, only give misinformation and bias.
If it's not misinformation and bias, then I look forward to reading some evidence, proof and facts, as well as some answers to questions that I have been waiting for pages to read only to see the questions avoided time after time.

New readers - ignore the bickering, this cannot be disputed:
Anyone contemplating joining UW, or current UW customers, should concentrate on UW prices.
The average UK customer uses 20,500kWh gas and 3,300kWh electricity pa. Using energyhelpline for my area(Midlands) they list 80 tariffs available in order of cost. UW have 3 tariffs and are ranked in 67th, 68th & 78th position.
The cheapest tariff for the above consumption is £944. The cheapest UW tariff costs £1,190. So UW costs £246(26%) more than the cheapest available tariff.0 -
It cannot be disputed indeed.
Concentrating on cost, however, is more beneficial than concentrating on price, no? It's more important to weigh up exactly what goes out of your bank account every month rather than tariffs, I would expect.
So, I shall throw in that I spend £1100 per month in Sainsbury's, and not include any other shops, etc that I might spend money in. £1100 per month is £13,200 per annum. With the 3% cashback that I get from doing my shopping there, that's a total annual credit of £396 off my bill. Now that £1,190 is down to £794, which is cheaper than your cheapest tariff of £944, so I could say that UW is cheaper than your cheapest offering by £150 per annum.
Now, let me get one thing straight here. UW do not have the cheapest gas and electricity prices, nor will you find any claim that they do on any of their official websites. Any UW distributor claiming the cheapest TARIFFS is just wrong. But, it may follow that the cheapest TARIFF is not necessarily the cheapest TOTAL COST when taking other factors into account.
Please don't talk about other services now, this is the Gas & Electricity section, right, so let's talk about gas & electricity, not anything else. I have outlined above how UW can provide a lower amount going out of my bank account than the £944 quoted by E.On in the energyhelpline quote. Can someone please take a structured and coherent approach to this and give some logical reasoning why I would NOT want to take the UW contract in this scenario.
Regards,
Meeper

Came back to this and found that I'm banned for touting ... Did I tout for a business?? Just gave my honest view even I'm a Distributor (even believe that they are crap for Gas / Elec).
I bet someone will complain about me now _pale_
After reading your posts, I don't believe you were touting for business, we've seen it done by UW Distributors before, but I wouldn't say you were touting. I found your posts to be honest and you declared yourself as required, Some petty person obviously hit the spam or abuse button, I personally can't think why and I don't agree you should have been banned, very silly in my opinion.:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:
