The risk is, in fact, miniscule....
If that were true, then:
1) Why does your company refer to there being risks (Not "the risk")
2) Why don't you get onto your company to remove the emphasis they put on the risks associated with the card when they say this as the very first part of their Ts + Cs:Utility_Warehouse wrote:By activating your Card you accept these Terms and Conditions and confirm you understand and accept the risks highlighted in clauses 2(b) and 18(d) of this Agreement.0 -

Because it is right and proper to draw attention to risks, however small they may be. I'm sorry - are you advocating that we should try to hide any small risks somewhere buried in the small print in order to divert attention away from them? Absolute shame on you, and thank you for finally showing your true colours of deceit.......
It is I who has drawn attention to the risks. UW reps generally reply by asking "what risks?". We have heard how reps are trained to sell the card, (no mention is made of the discussing the ts + cs, or minimizing the stated risks), but to give the impression the card will save on supermarket shopping and fuel purchase generally, when the truth is far from this!

(And you descending to personal abuse after I replied when it was actually you who asked me why I referred to the card as "risky" seems par for your course.)0 -

What question remains unanswered?
You asked why I referred to the card as being risky. I answered that it was not me but actually the Utility Warehouse that points out it has risks!
(Though the evidence we have is that the Reps make light of it here, and that the UW on line training on how to sell the card makes no mention whatsoever of it having risks, but concentrates on the reps being taught to give the impression it is far easier to get discounts on supermarket shopping and fuel than it actually is)0 -
I hope someone may be able to help?
Unfortunately I had dealings a couple of years ago with Utility Warehouse. To cut a long story short a payment plan was agreed with one of their directors.
I have paid in full by direct debit and I thought that was the last of it.
A couple of weeks ago I received 2 letters from Utility Debt Collectors stating there is still £8.81 outstanding.
I have tried numerous times to contact Utility Debt Collectors on the phone but always receive a message informing me that their mailbox is full and to try later.
I have sent countless emails detailing the payment plan and when payments were made etc but have never received a reply acknowledging my emails.
Not wanting to have a County Court Judgement etc against me what do people suggest?
Whilst I appreciate it is a very small amount it certainly isn't owed by me and I don't see why I should pay.0 -

But I don't owe anything.
Not sure if it is a scam or something as it seems pretty bizarre that I can't get them on the phone.0 -

Why do you fear a CCJ? (It will cost them at least £25 just to issue you with a summons. And they lose that (and all other court fees etc unless they win their case against you!)
You can't get a CCJ without first getting the opportunity to send in a defence to the court (which you have if you don't owe them any money!)
Write (recorded delivery) to the debt collectors stating what you have tried to email them, and take it forward from their reply.0 -
