does it automatically load into safe mode or do you select it? Does it restart itself when you select boot normally? Here today, hospital tomorrow0

thanks for the reply and help. want to mean boot normally how do i get that
no i select safe mode
it does have safe mode with command but do not know if i should select that,
not very good at this problem0 -
Hi,
When you turn your laptop on do you get the following options?
You need to press the Down arrow until you highlight the option 'Start Windows Normally'
Then press Enter.
You do not need to go into safe mode. Just start normally. This happened because it didn't shut down correctly last time when your battery ran out. Once you have logged in and shut the laptop down correctly it won't appear again.0 -
thanks for the reply i get the first 3 on your list then i do not get the enable boot logging, or vga on mine
start windows normally
then get last know good configuration
i do go onto the start windows normally but then still just restarts and goes to the page you have copied above0 -
That means there is a problem with your computer and is restarting on boot, best thing to do is run the Last known good configuration to see if that works. If not you may need to remove device drivers and reinstall them, failingh that a reinstall of windows. Here today, hospital tomorrow0

oh no i have to reinstall again, do you think it could be a virus?
past few days when i load up it says been error do you think due to this0 -
Can you remember what the error says? Here today, hospital tomorrow0

It's probably blue-screening before it reboots but you don't have a chance to read it.
Press F8 repeatedly as the computer boots up, then select "Disable automatic restart on system failure" from the menu so it won't do this.
Then next time you start up normally you should get a blue-screen with a error something like STOP 0x7(xxxx) which can help us/you diagnose0 -
thanks done this the error it says is 0xoooooo240

Thanks... it seems that it's saying there's an error with the ntfs config file... the thing that manages the file system on the harddrive.
Have you got a Windows disc? You need to get into the windows recovery console which you can get from booting the windows disc or a windows floppy recovery disc.... I'm sure I've seen tools online for making recovery floppy discs I'll have a quick look.
Once in you've got to run the 'chkdsk /r' command which will check the disc for errors and then repair.0
