Pigpen - he's doing ok with the pain as they just dose him up. The wound has been bleeding through the bandage and he says he now has a comedy leg now as they must of used all the bandages in Camp Bastion! He's got nothing to wear as it's all in either Lashka Har or Niadullah, so is wearing a help for heros t shirt and some shorts from someone! He's loving having pop to drink instead of just water, that was the first thing he asked the company commander when he came round

At least he isn't naked! lol

he is just fine then.. :D:D:D:D

you'll have to buy them some bandages as replacement!!

They no longer do UK insurance.. I was with them last year.

:( shame, they were my cheapest by several hundred for the last two years. SS has his car insurance with them too.

I have fed the boys and collected 4 eggs. I really need to make myself get on :o

Thank you for all the good wishes yesterday. - I really appreciate it.

I had an early night, slept in past the alarm - almost unheard of - and felt much better. Spent an hour on the allotment in the sunshine decluttering weeds and sowing salad stuff.

I went into school this afternoon, and rang half a dozen parents to let them know how horrible their little darlings were yesterday, put said little darlings on subject report, and came home feeling very much more cheerful! Parents were without exception mortified and extremely supportive - which may surprise their offspring who claimed that they wouldn't believe me and didn't care anyway. I really wish I could overhear the teatime conversations.:D

I have done a bare minimum of flying, but will get it sorted later in the week.

Love and hugs to carlsbergal - and healing vibes for Danny.

Thanks again for all your good wishes. Polly - he got shot in the lower leg yesterday, has had one operation and is waiting for a flight to come home to have another operation at the military hospital in Birmingham. I've just been told there isn't a flight tonight, so I'm gutted. Maybe one tomorrow or if not it will be thursday x

They're a good bunch in those wards; pizza runs on Saturday night to get their calorie count up; part of the recuperation is going to the local pub... also, there's a local charity who sort out bags of new tshirts, undies, socks, toiletries... My friend was in the same ward as a lot of the soldiers last year due to complications following a road accident. (My offer still stands, by the way as I'm spitting distance from there:D) Also, there will be a lot of parents in the same position as you...

LW - I do love your 'all dragons moved and dusted'

Shouldn't you do them the same day as the fireplace?
As it's more likely to be ash??

    I'll get me coat.....:D

Would appreciate some off topic advice - it's cluttering up my head, so suppose it could be classed as on topic? :D Estranged toxic half-sister found out through Mum/other sister about my visit to specialist in HSP. She is a drs receptionist and spoke to one of drs at work re testing for herself now that she has 2 half-sisters with the same condition. She has no symptoms at the moment. Dr told her to speak to her own GP about her concerns. It took me 2 years and many, many distressing appointments/tests to find and get referral to this specialist so I was REALLY, REALLY, ANNOYED , when instead of doing as suggested she rang my consultant. I know that they will not give her any info and ask her to go through proper channels but how do I deal with my anger? She didn't even bother to remember what it was called for all of the 12 years that our other sis has been diagnosed. This is exactly the kind of thing that led me to ask her not to contact me and I had been feeling much better but now I'm angry/stressed/upset and have no outlet for my emotions. So sorry to waffle on but it's been bugging me for last week coming on top of lots of other upset.

*rubs chin* would you like me and some of the 'girls' to 'pop' round and 'have a word' assuming she's were you were IYSWIM;)
Insightful thought from my 16 year old yesterday. They examine us in too much, everything they teach us. Why not just teach us stuff. Let's face it if I'm cooking dinner for a girlfriend she won't be impressed that I have a hygiene cert just that I'm cooking and not poisoning her.
    :T:T:T:T:T:T

I am here and lloking forward muchly to mu last day at work for the week...just made dd clean up the dining room when the 'evidence' that she had cleaned out her gerbils was...well...evident.

Mrs B I'll visit you if you get a VO then (assuming you DO get 'banged up'! ;))

All caught up then - Graaaan ...glad Danny's 'fine' and hope he makes a full recovery IYSWIM...

I told my 'babies' off for vandalism today - sea of horrified faces when I informed them that as far as I was concerned deliberately snapping a brand new pencil was just as much an act of vandalism as smashing a window (or various other crimes) - just because most of them have well off parents who can replace lost or damaged goods without a second thought doesn't mean they can waste the school's money - we're on budget and it's about to get tighter. I was NOT impressed with such thoughtlessness.

    Evening all

Serena - glad you are feeling brighter and well done for being proactive

Carlsberg big hugs for you and Danny, was it enemy fire? I'm glad he is in good spirits. Will he be home for being a top uncle?

15 minutes tidy up of the kitchen/getting washing in and then I need to get the boys in from playing footie. I need to get DS3's bedtime sorted as he is being a pickle until 9:30 at night but I have a plan ;)

Serena/Valli - you can imagine how depressing (and not to say challenging) it was to be in an exam room with 330 Yr10 and Yr11 students sitting an RS exam this afternoon. Managed to use my skills to get one kid to do the exam who was just sitting and stopped one outside who had gone into meltdown so there were some positives.

wm on and unloaded, chilli in the oven. valli quite right too on the vandalism topic.

serena hugs, it is the best job in the world but sometimes you feel like a vampire has had most of your blood, don't you? (or is that just me?!)
