It is a Creda condenser tumble dryer which for those not in the know means it is the opposite of a non-condenser dryer, does that help at all? Being a Creda also means it is not a Hotpoint or Dyson so by now you should be getting a complete picture of what it is that we have to offer! It is one of those ones not requiring an outside vent but you do need to empty the water reservoir each time.

It is quite a large tumble dryer albeit a little temperamental. We have only used it a couple of times as it was gifted from our neighbours that upgraded but being the eco mentalists we are we usually wait until it is sunny and put them out on the line or wear them wet and go out running with our arms waving above our head. Alternative clothes drying methods have included visiting some of our less fit friends that put the heating on very high and asking them to make room for our clothes horse (you soon find out who your friends are!) Anyway, it is sat here taking up a chunk of space that we could be using for hemp blankets, open toe sandals and our collection of tree huggers weekly so please come and get it asap.

Polite emails would be nice but to be honest you could be the East Midlands equivalent of Victor Meldrew and you would still get it because we would like it gone so you are most likely to get this by offering a definite time and date that occurs before the sun goes down today! Failing that tomorrow….and then maybe the next day but any days after that we will be looking for manners!

You will know where we are by driving round Glapwell with the window open shouting for Alan or Angry Dwarf to come to the door, by knocking on the house with solar panels or asking me where I live!

Look forward to hearing from you

Alan and Even Angrier Dwarf since I read this email to her.

I have just read through this thread and it's pretty obvious who is the smarmy self righteous one posting on this thread is. I am dumfounded how someone can start an argument on an obvious light hearted thread.

I have just had a look through some of your previous posts and it seems that you are able to start an argument in a Phone box and take some enjoyment in disagreeing with people just for the sake of it. Rather childish and Pathetic really.

I think you seem to have a misunderstanding of the purpose of freecycle/Freegle. It is to keep things out of landfill. It is not a swapshop or a place to put your Christmas list to Santa.

A couple of things for you to look at so you can ubnerstand the difference between Freecycle/Freegle and a list for Santa. Have a quick look at their websites.

I hope that helps your obvious confusion.:D

I echo what you have said here. I've been a lurker on this thread because I've really found it amusing to read people's anecdotes about what they've seen on freecycle etc and haven't really posted except to point out about our friendly neighbourhood troll. I can take the fact that they think I have little intellectual capability because I reffered to them as a troll. If they are so clever they should know that a troll is someone who deliberately posts on a forum to cause arguments etc, so it wasn't an insult to them it was a statement of factual observation! Obviously hit a nerve since they chose to insult me. Anyway, it's good to see that most people have taken them for what they are! Keep posting folks as I love this thread!!

Quite amusing that you openly call someone a troll and then start whining that they've insulted you. The fact that you missed that barefaced application of double standards gives credence to the suggestion of a lack of ability to apply 'intellectual rigour' to certain situations.

As does the fact that you have, of course, completely ignored my stated aim of making sure casual viewers of this thread are not put off FC because a few spiteful posters have nothing better to do with their time than to scan FC listing looking for people at whom the can snigger and smirk.

And, as with the others, you have ignored the fact that it's actually only a very few of the posts in the thread where people go over the top and criticise FC users who are behaving in a perfectly reasonable fashion.

And, finally, you have played true to type by not even attempting to give a credible definition of FC's purpose that would disallow, for example, a mother to be, to list a few things that it would be helpful for her to receive - even if most of these are things that people are likely to have no further need for when the family is complete.
Obviously hit a nerve since they chose to insult me. Anyway, it's good to see that most people have taken them for what they are! Keep posting folks as I love this thread!!
    Don't flatter yourself.

It perfectly obvious where the nerves have been hit around here.

It's the small coterie of people who responded to what was initially nothing more than a mild statement of puzzlement with a succession of more or less rabid attacks laced with plenty of name calling - and no credible attempt to explain their behaviour.
There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.

I took the Sony portable telly to the dump. No-one wanted it, despite listing it on freecycle umpteen times.

    Dont you love freecyle.
i put a big mirror up on there and had 3 people who wanted it. So i emailed "first to get back to me with a time gets it" someone did and was ready to give it to them(not said day/time). So guess my surpise when a man turns up at my door asking for it. I didnt question has i was just back college and hadnt really thought.

I later checked my email and thought how did these people get my address, as i hadnt given it to them. Turns out theyd used another amil as they had had things off me before. (the guy was rude then, seeing the stuff i was going to give him in the hall he grunted"is that mine then" no please/thanks) They emailed bakc" oh i thought you wouldnt mind, i remembered you email and thought you meant first to your house " no sorry ect.

I told them not to ask for my stuff again (i seem to put more on than get(had books from someone thats it when i put 10+ on). People are so rude on there.
