    James,

    I understand what you're saying. Technically, the old guy isn't breaking the law. However, 2 points that I think most sane people would agree with;

    1) If I found out my barely-legal was dating a 60 year old, there would be hell to pay.

    2) If I found out a 60 year old was taking my 19 year old, and my 14 year old on holiday, I'd be meeting them at the airport and none of them would be boarding a plane that day.

In situations like this, the law is irrelevant, and your morale compass should over-ride the law.

    david,

Gosh that is scary about the pressure being exerted to let the younger go on holiday. Shame the school didn't refuse permission if the holiday was in term time as I am assuming. Can you get the school's child protection officer to do anything?

Also, could you have a word with the British Embassy in Cyprus to see if they can offer any assistance, even if it is just to visit your youngest and report back to the authorities here?
:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.

Seriously why are you waiting? I appreciate that you don't want what happened before to happen again, but this is what 5 days since you posted this thread how much longer can this wait?

I have found out the pervert lent the mother £1000 and the eldest is using this to blackmail the mother into letting the youngest have contact with them and that is why she let her go on holiday,it just gets worse. To all those more concerned about vocabulary leave this post alone and try countdown instead,it's a serious matter.

Where I come from, that's called pimping!

    This really is terrible.

I dont want to inflame the situation or make a already awfuyl situation worse, I know you were saying this man was freinds with your ex-wifes parents? ( ie the grandparents ) is that right?

I know this might sound "odd" and Ive been thinking of a delicate way to put this but I dont think there is one, so Ill be direct

Do you think there is any chance that this man abused/ had sexualised feelings etc for your Ex wife as she was growing up?

The only reason was I was thinking about an old freind ( not freinds any more)who was abused by her grandad. It came out later down the line that her mum had also been abused by the grandad and that is why my freinds mum gave "access" to my freind and sibling and "turned a blind eye" to the sexual abuse as she had to a degree normalised it in her own head to cope with her own trauma yet had battened down her hatches to ensure total denial.

I wondered whether this might answer the question "how can this mother..."

If not, Im pleased, but I just wanted to put it out there in case it might be any help to you or anyone else who reads this in due course.

If there is money involved -loan or not- Commercial sexual explolitation or as ONW says "pimping". ( somewhat dated term ;)

I have worked in exactly this area, so please let me know if there is anything at all that you need help with there are some v specialist orgnisations who might well be able to do more than you can do alone. Commercial secxual exploitation ( or the providing of children for sexual purposes for money) is a child protection matter and will trigger ( or certainly should!!) CP measures.

Even if it is not explicit, or it might be something so vague as glancing at the child getting changed.

best of luck OP, please let us now waht is being done, this is so so important.

    Good luck xx

I call a spade a spade (and sometimes even a shovel!).

I do agree with your thinking on this, by the way.

    I know!

But commercial sexual expoitation of children can throw up some interesting protective groups.

Barnados have been leaders in the field too, and believe they still undertake some specilist work in this area. Op you may want to call them for advice.
