I can't support the spread of illiteracy. Dumbing down is for the dumb. If in doubt may I suggest the Glaswegian “stoat the baw” be univeraly adopted instead. The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

You've got your work cut out correcting all the people who post on the MSE fora and use the word 'of' instead of 'have' (I could of...), 'lend' instead of 'borrow' (I borrowed my mate a book and he hasn't given it back to me) and 'brought' instead of 'bought' (my Mum brought me a new bike from Halfords, it only cost £100) let alone correct all the spelling and punctuation errors that are made.
In fact, it will be a full-time job to point out all the apostrophes in the wrong place.
Or should I say "apostrophe's" to start you off in your pedantic crusade.
Good luck to you.0 -
Why are two men so concerned with hearing two sides of the story? It's always men who wade on on underage sex threads for some reasons. Girls of 14 are very vulnerable , something you should try to understand.
The OP has been spoken to in an insensitive and distasteful manner , you should feel ashamed of yourselves.
Yes , the internet is full of liars but when someone is asking for advice and support we should treat them as genuine unless obviously trolling.
I think some posters have been watching too much Perry Mason and feel the need to see if they are good at cross examining people. The result is offensive tripe.
OP , I hope you speak to your daughter's mother soon as she's not acting in the best interests of your daughter.0 -

should that not be (I borrowed my mate a book and he hasn't gave it back to me)

I quite agree, I would not be happy with any 14 year old being in the company of a man with a history of abuse of under age teenagers. I don't even care if his relationship with the older teen was strictly platonic until her reaching legal age of consent, it's grooming and wrong and still abuse in my opinion. Any man worth his salt knows if a person too young for you gives you attention it’s misplaced affection, not a licence to take advantage.
When I was younger (in my 20s) I occasionally had teenage girls try to chat me up, I never felt the need to try and take advantage. I used to think two things,
1. They are just practising a social skill – it’s not really real, i must look "safe".
2. Daddy issues. The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

I have found out the pervert lent the mother £1000 and the eldest is using this to blackmail the mother into letting the youngest have contact with them and that is why she let her go on holiday,it just gets worse. To all those more concerned about vocabulary leave this post alone and try countdown instead,it's a serious matter.0

What sort of informnation do you need David?
Is it stuff like where they are?
Do you know where eldest daughter & this male live? Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

How long have they been in cyprus? When are they back?
It seems to me that there is a child protection issue here. Whilst it appears that mother may not be a suitable person to protect the younger daughter and may be under duress, if you spend too long investigating
a) your younger daugter may be in increasing danger
b) the authorities may not think you are a suitable person to protect your younger daughter either
What more information do you need? Would the police or social services be better placed to obtain this?
I appreciate your caution because of the situation regarding the police last time but there may be other ways to tackle this.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0
