Youve done what many people do on here (Though I dont know why), please post the DATABASE VERSION you ran
Sorry, RIK you have lost me. It asked if I wanted to save a log, and I did and when I opened it, this is what was there. I may need a step by step idiot's guide to what I need to do, if you have the patience for it/me!It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0 -
Open malwarebytes, goto LOGS and post the top part (Which tells us the database version):idea:0

I was looking into expanding the RAM because my laptop is also running like treacle. So, I have done the malwarebytes and Hijackthis scans, so if someone could look at them please:) I'll post the HIjackthis in a separate post.
BTW, I have a Gateway MX6933b, running XP
Please start a NEW thread ticklemouse:idea:0 -
All that bit says is "The logs files list contains logs from both the scanner and the protection module. Double click a log file to open it."
When I do this, it opens the file I have pasted, above. Do I need to run the scan again, and do it straightaway to get the required information? Thnaks for being so patient.:oIt's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0 -

You have got both 'microsoft security essentials' running and NORTON running
Assuming Norton is out of date ~
Use the Norton removal tool

I might be wrong here, but jackieglasgow has posted a HijackThis log, aliEnRIK - I think you're confusing the log file with Malwarebytes.
Im not confused but everyone else might be
The log I require is the TOP part of the malwarebytes one. ALL I wish to see is which database version was used
For example ~
Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.45
https://www.malwarebytes.org
Database version: 3948
Windows 6.0.6002 Service Pack 2
Internet Explorer 8.0.6001.18904
03/04/2010 12:29:17
mbam-log-2010-04-03 (12-29-17).txt
Scan type: Full scan (C:\|D:\|F:\|)
Objects scanned: 198698
Time elapsed: 30 minute(s), 28 second(s)
Memory Processes Infected: 0
Memory Modules Infected: 0
Registry Keys Infected: 0
Registry Values Infected: 0
Registry Data Items Infected: 0
Folders Infected: 0
Files Infected: 0:idea:0 -
No Plarkster, I posted the malwaresbytes one first.
Thanks though!
