ebay car- broke down within 2 weeks

Hi just wondering if someone can advise me on what to do next
i won a car on ebay 14th april (item number 330422222874 ) the seller owned the garage so i have receipt but says no warranty.
all seemed fine when i test drove it, but on the way home issues started and 2 weeks ago it broke down completely
The problem is serious wiring issues - random fuses blowing make it unsafe to drive, after leaving the garage the fuse for dash blew which left me without any speedo or any dials
more problems have arisen since then.
-Central locking failed the next day.
-Car has now broke down, it can’t move at all without engine cutting out possible catalytic converter.
-Traces of oil in the air filter and water.
- stereo not wired in, bare live wires left hanging that had to be repaired in the hope this would resolve the wiring issue but unfortunately it did not.
-Badly repaired front-end damage, upon closer inspection light brackets damaged, power steering fluid container had been left hanging down with no fixings.
i was a fool really as i went on my own but it seemed fine, well so i thought
i contacted the seller he just laughed down phone followed by get stuffed and try sue him but il get nothing
consumer direct told me to send a letter of salesofgoods act (they checked listing too), i have sent the letter but he hasnt picked up from sorting office
could i take it to small claims court or just have to save for repair?
thanks for reading

I think consumer direct are onto something here. The guy is buying and selling car parts. I suspect he is buying bangers and doing them up and selling them on.
Save all the auctions and look for any proof you can he is a trader then reject it under SOGA. If he doesnt respond small claims.0 -

I may be remembering this wrong, but aren't auction sales specifically excluded from the SOGA?0 -
thank you
i've saved all the auction info, complaint letter with SOGA
the complaint was sent 2 weeks ago via special delivery, hes still not picked it up
so i followed up with the phone call and email via ebay his repose was
CAR WAS SOLD BY EBAY (AUCTIONS) THEIR RULES ARE YOU BID YOU LOOK AND THEN IF SATISFIED YOU BUY. NO WARRANTIES.
he owns the carsales but they also do repairs there
all along he stated it was in perfect condition apart from the lock on the door, which was fine with me but no other problems mentioned
if i went to small claims im just worried it will take a long time as im struggling without it already as i have 2 children and my youngest is disabled0 -

No Auctions are exclused from DSR not SOGA.
As far as I can tell this gentleman is a trader hence SOGA applies. I suggest the OP writes rejecting the car and giving the trader 14 days to collect/arrange return and refund stating non compliance will lead to a daily storage charge of £10 per day.
After 14 days if the trader hasnt complied make a small claims court for the cost of the car and court fee as well as the storage charges.0 -
Also check to see if he has CCJs against him.0

I take it that you've reported to ebay? They may do something. Apart from anything else he appears to be selling on a personal account & is obviously a business seller.
There's an ebay thread on here, may be worth popping on there as they know about all things ebay.

Did you pay cash or through credit card? If CC won't you be covered by that if all else fails?0 -
The guy is a business, no matter what he says, so you are 100% entitled to reject the car for being not fit for purpose.
I'd send a recorded delivery letter stating that he has 14 days to collect the car and issue you with a full refund, otherwise you will take him to the small claims court. Entitle it "Letter Before Action".
How far away is the garage?Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Guess OP bought a
