Friday 14th May - What small DFW things have you done today?!
Comments

I'm really annoyed with myself! DH has been ordering more unneccesary *stuff* from Ebay again, and in my temper I took a pair of scissors to the box to see what was in it and managed to stab myself in the leg
Not only am I livid, but hurting too now - serves me right!Making magic with fabricLight travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.0 -
La Es - keep the shower at 8 for now and see if it does make a difference! Maybe treat yourself to a 9 once a week when you dont have to rush
Oliveoyl - where in Africa are you?
Milly - I am not so far away, shout if you need anything for hospital, or when convalescing! How long will you be in for?
DNMS - I am 34, with 4 children aged 6 up to 18. Pleased to say there are no grandkids on the way just yet......but I get the feeling there will be soon as I was told 'no baby this month' Argghhh!
Triangle - keep meaning to mention http://www.westierehoming.me.uk/ to you, as I know you love westies. They do some great work, dont know if you have time to be involved but they are always looking for volunteersOn the subject of dodgy westie skin, my dad has found it eases depending on which food his westie eats, I can find out from him which he uses (I remember ages ago you mentioning skin issues).

So today I charged phone and ipod at work for the weekend.
Entered two competitions online in lunch break
brought own lunch in.
Walked to work.
Got permission from my boss to take on some out-of-hours nursing shifts.
Had a wash instead of a shower I only needed to wake myself up!
Don't seem to be doing too well so far but I have big plans for the weekend!
Thats the great thing about this thread, its the small DFW things that really add up, so I think you are doing just fine
Look forward to seeing you on the weekend thread tomorrow!0 -
I commute to Birmingham from the Wirral 3 days a week for work, other 2 days work from home, more if I can. Problem is I have to pay for own fuel. So things I have done today are;
1. Drove much slower to manage fuel consumption
2. Did not buy the really nice homemade bakewell tarts in work (£1.20 each)
3. Used free vending machine for horrible tea in work instead of buying proper coffee
My wife (who is brilliant) will make a cheap dinner for when I get home, probably made of veg and pulses. She is a genius with food always tasty. She will use up any veg that may be looking a bit dodgy celaring the fridge out for tomorrows food shop (hopefully a bargain)
Just have to say, not sure what issues you are all having, but you guys are brilliant supporting each other and is a pleasure to read you daily challenges and creative solution..top class
My wife had an accident in work in 2008 and has only recently been finished up by the company after 16 years hard graft. She has been suffering from the accident (arthritis) but suffering more with depression, so trying to keep her focussed on sorting herself out and helping us sort our money issues out. i.e. northern rock mortgage has just moved from interest only (last 12 months) to repayment adding £400 to monthly outgoings...
Oh and we have cancelled our Sky this week, so looking for the next thing we can hit.
Best wishes to all and can't wait to read some more and hopefully find a few friendly chats along the way. XX:money:0 -

Hey Jig & AoB Welcome! In the words of a famous marketer "Every little helps" and I think it really does!
Our first Male (I think!?!) wicked - I love a bit of gender-bending how postmodern!!!!
Jig stick with us and you'll soon know the ins & outs of the daily struggles & hopefully you'll share with us too x
It must be hard with your wife not being well atm as well as the loss of income. I, in the past, suffered with depression and at times my mood can be very low & pessimistic (too much on my plate and its hard to stay cheeful when the world is on my shoulders). My oh is amazing and really changed my life (at least how I feel about it if not the actual physical stuff!) - I really don't know how he copes with me & the issues he's taken on with my delinquent kids! But he does and I'm thankful every day even if I don't show it/act in completely the opposite way!
Am nursing a bruised ego as dd has definately decided I'm excluded from the "scan party"... oh well one day she will appreciate me I'm sure! Think I'll console myself with a mocca and carry on with the flylady...DF as at 30/12/16

Just reporting in to say that the cold (which wasn't really too bad) has worsened - boo! You know when you just feel worn out, achy and have a thick head - not good.
However, I had loads to do so in the spirit of most women just got on with it (rather than taking to my bed like OH would)! I have..- Walked dog
- Bathed dog (fun!)
- Managed to block shower drain
- Made up spare bed with clean sheets
- Been to get shower drain unblocker!
- Bought some sweeties for £4 for me, mum, OH and sis from old style sweetie shop for tonight or if we're really good to take to the pictures tomorrow (Robin Hood) where we'd usually spend about £20 between 4 of us on pick and mix, popcorn and drinks The sweet shop does quarters of sweets from jars - how very old-skool!
- Hoovered and dusted whole house
- Cleaned bathrooms
- Quick whip round the kitchen
- Just got a call saying I didn't get the job yesterday - went to someone that had been teaching for 25 years! Will I ever get a foot on the ladder?
