Try connecting from the Lappy using the passphrase the router says it is using

I had already tried connecting with the laptop thats the one that had the red x but I changed some things in properties on the laptop next to our network. It wasnt set at wpa2 personal on the laptop it was just set at wpa personal so swapped that and changed the tkip+aes to just aes and its working now :)

Do you think its necessary to keep it on aes or put it back to tkip+aes as I think it was just the wpa2 personal missetting that was stopping it from working?
    Thanx

I think the router has only AES for WPA2-Personal so it will be more sense to leave the laptops like that too. TKIP was (I think) for WPA-Personal (note no 2). The router has probably got a WPA2-Mixed mode which is for TKIP+AES , try the old XP lappy now too, it may have only WPA-Personal available, but if it can use WPA2 then all well and good. :)
