Ooh I wonder Hethmer, my wee staffy has the itchy feet thing, and is constantly at them, no sign of irritation or anything yet, but they look a bit dry, as does the top of her head, behind her ears (it was nearly bare there when we got her), I might try this and see if it works. Thanks!

Lovely dogs but my god they bark like crazy!!! I have yet to find another westie owner that doesn't agree.
    !

Add me to that list as well then, Bob very rarely barks (mainly because he is too blinking lazy!!)

    Ok, from experience...

I've never had too many problems with Bobby, he is a duff Westie (his ears never came up) and his skin doesnt respond well to Bakers dog food so he gets a hypo-allergenic food from an internet company called 'mymaddog'.

He's coming up to ten now, and came to us when DD was 2 and DS 7 so he was raised with the kids. He can be grumpy as he has gotten older he likes his peace and quiet a lot more than he used to. He is however, incredibly lazy. The sight of his lead sends him off to hide, he hates walks and will sit down and refuse to move. Getting him into bed at night is a military exercise as he wont move off the sofa..... He's very much 'out for himself' and not at all loyal lol

When Bob was 2 we bought Jack, a Scottish Terrier. Now, chalk and cheese. Jack is fiercely loyal to both me, OH and the kids. He is also not a barker or yapper, preferring only to bark once as an alert when he needs to. He will follow you to the end of the earth and back (and the loo!). He's energetic, always eager to play and has never snapped in his 8 years.

Ive always said if I had to choose between the 2 breeds again I would always go with the Scottie :o

Anyway, here are my handsome boys, bob being Lazy as usual:

Its not worth getting the insurance involved, its only £12 for a big block of the shampoo and it lasts ages. Cant remember the costs of the other stuff. I just put a blob of the ointment on Diggs as I notice he has a scabby little lump on his chest. The pollen plays havoc with both the dogs. I should really make sure I wipe them all over with a wet flannel when they come in from a walk or the garden.

Sam, it cant help giving it a try, its not dangerous, its herbal - and blow me, the steroids are the most worrying stuff they seem to bung at all the dogs as soon as they scratch themselves. Neither of mine have had steroids for over a year now - Ralph for nearly 2 years (and we spent £600 on allergy tests for him :() I do also feed them both on Royal Canin skin support food mixed in with JW.

Jackie, ditto for your boy - ask them which would be the best, the spray, ointment or shampoo soap. TBH I have all three as I find the bath is good for an overall itchiness and the ointment handy for specific areas - like the scabby lump I found on his little chest this morning. This is the worse half of the year for them, up to October now and so I reckon if we contain it like we have done using this stuff for the last two summers then we are doing really well. The rest of the year is a breeze with it.

LOL, I should get shares in this company shouldnt I! Actually, my OH said to me, it would be worth trying to have a stall or something selling this stuff as its something we know works and isnt a scam or OTT expensive. But I think its only them that sell it.

You're right, there are some lovely dogs here. I went for the cream/ointment, as I thought it would be easier, Hethmer. Coco doesn't like sprays at all, and I would struggle to bath her regularly enough as she hates it, too, but I know she'd enjoy the attenion of having the cream applied!

Fingers crossed it helps her. As I say, wiping them over with a flannel should really be in our routine, but you forget dont you. The pollen must be really bad at the moment as even Im sneezing every time I go outside. I noticed the bird bath water is thick with pollen too and I only changed that this morning.

I only wish they made eye drops aswell as Ralph's dry eye gets worse this time of year and Ive got him on that optimmune which is ok, but well, its forever.

Deb, I was the same. I bought some spray at first but the noise frightened Diggs so I then ordered some of the soap shampoo on line. A few minutes after Id sent the order online the phone rang and it was the girl from aromesse asking why Id ordered the soap - wasnt the spray working? She was worried that Id spend more money if the spray hadnt worked! I said to her it was just the noise frightened Diggs and she sent me the soap but said if it doesnt get you the results you want let us know and we will refund you.

So I was well impressed with their attitude too and I meant to say actually, both dogs have itchy ears in the spring/summer. Diggs has been treated 3 times with sterioids and anti biotics for ear infections/exzema (they couldnt make up their mind which!). This last time, I thought before I go to the vet Ill get some of the itchy ear drops from aromesse. Well, honest, one dose and he shook his head a bit but that was it, he didnt scratch them again. I did it for a few days and I honestly couldnt believe that his ears werent red raw and boiling hot like they always got.

I just thank god for the stuff to be honest - never thought Id find something that actually worked.

That is really good customer service - going to order some ointment and see how we get on - thanks for you all your help :):)
