Looks like my luck changed - did another 2 tests (irrational but my hunches are being pretty good) - both now negative.

Looks like it was chemical only.

dizzi dont panic yet ive had this happen before if was you i would try and get on with things for at least 4 days or more then try again. I know its flaming hard and you want to know but the hormone level in your wee will fluctuate so much to begin with that doing test after test could cause the negative. It is highly unusual to get a false positive pregnancy test it is much more likely to get a false negative.

Fingers crossed for you :-) x

It's still early days, if your period isn't here yet that's a good sign, also if they were different brands of test and not FMU too. I really hope it turns out OK for you x

    too many comps..not enough time!

Hi there and really sorry for all your stress/upset. I'm also having my own drama (just posted on trials and tribulations thread) - mc over a year ago, very strange cycles after that, today period is a week overdue but test is negative.

But on the money saving front, have a look at these:
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/50-Ultra-Early-10mIU-Pregnancy/dp/B0026RKBWM/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&s=drugstore&qid=1274020921&sr=8-11

Also if you search for "pregnancy test" on amazon you come up with other stuff from the same seller that's also cheap (less tests in a package, ov tests etc).
