Just about every time I used any of the bonus reward vouchers, at least one of them would be rejected. A trip over to customer services would always result in the voucher being accepted & the appropriate points or discount being credited as required.

It just got to be a PITA it happening nearly every time.

They may not be the brightest and often need to ask supervisor, or manager because they dont really understand but they get paid minimum wage so I am not expecting paxman and perhaps they are just covering their own backsides as so many customers do try and rip them off.

Tesco staff are not on minimum wage. This keeps getting said on this board but it is not correct.

as for having a bad day for some underage kids trying to get alcohol knowing this store they werent underage. I was in there 3 weeks ago im 26 trying to buy a pack of 4 cans for dh, wedding ring on finger, 4 year old dd in tow and preg again and im told sorry im not serving you as you have no id on you even tho the person with you does and you could be under 18. this coming from someone who looked 16-17 was so embarassing. I told him do your maths, im married with a 4 yr old n pregnant again n u just saw my younger sisters id and could see shes 22 so im clearly not going to be under 22 let alone under 18

But you could have just borrowed the kid and the wedding ring, so that doesn't prove anything. And so many 16 year olds or younger get pregnant these days.

Plus how do they know it is your younger sister, could have been your older sister or just a friend.

No ID no sale, if you are asked. There is no point in arguing as it will not get you anywhere.

You should stand your ground and tell her to call for a superviser who may have better mathematical skills than she seems to have.

Why didn't you ask to see a Supervisor?

Calling a supervisor may resolve the problem when you are there, once you have left the store, you are referred to as 'that pain in the a*** customer.' I know that that is not true of the majority of stores, but you will find that the younger the supervisor the attitude worsens, again I know that that is not true of all young supervisors, but it does happen, I have witnessed it.

Or maybe the checkout operator was having a bad day.

Possibly previous customers had tried buying alcohol while clearly underage and then told her she was a F*****g C**t when she refused.

Or a shopper had clearly not understood the concept of buy 2 get 1 free and called her a B***h.

Or a customer couldnt understand the basic workings of a self scan till and threatened to knock her teeth down her throat.

Or a family of four stood there watching her pack their shopping away because they think its below them to do it.

Or she has just scanned a customers last item and the customer disappears half way around the store to get something else.

Or a customer has handed her an empty sweet wrapper or apple core to scan because their precious little darling cannot go an hour without munching on something.

These are all things that happen regularly to my wife and you should all be grateful that you only have to deal with a till operator once a day and not hundreds of abusive, ignorant and downright rude customers.

    Ok rant over LOL!

Welcome to the customer service industry sweetie.

You are being paid to put up with people.

I suggest that you find another industry if you let this get to you.

Nothing but nothing can justify any customer calling any employee a "****ing **nt".

Can you point that out to the people who use OH A&E dept when he is on shift. He gets called this at least once a day.

My Tesco's has lovely staff and nothing seems too much bother, so much I now avoid Morrisons like the plague!

    Simple.

When anyone behaves like that they are banned. Banned, be it Tesco or a hospital or anywhere.
