I am so angry with Teso's  i went shopping on monday for fruit and veg for my son as I get healthy start vouchers for him got to the till and the cashier told me she could only accept 1 i asked her to check the recipet which she did although from her attitude you could see she clearly didnt want to, she added it up and then told me she would allow me to use 2 but i was 'Lucky' she was allowing this.
I had already added the value of the fruit and veg while shopping so i knew what i had to spend etc so knew it was £11 odd which would entitle me to use 3 but she still wouldnt accept it.
She was really rude and arrogant towards me which was really embarrasing as there was a huge queue behind me. So i gave in as i could hear the other customers moaning.

I trippled checked my receipt and the fruit and veg came to £11.14, what kind of people are tesco employin?? how can they employ people to work with money if they can not even add up.

    OK rant over lol
The best thing to do would have been to say nothing to the cashier & pay, keep a hold of your reciept & go straight to customer services to complain.

You should of humiliated her like she did you and pointed out why is she working on a till if she cant do basic maths and how are you to trust she can even give count the correct change and walk out leaving her shopping for her to put away

She doesn't need skills to work on a till...

    scan the items
    hit the total button
ask customer to insert credit/debit card

    simple

or ask for cash, key in amount given, till calculates change...

what Tescos, Asda Sainsburys etc would be better doing is have electronics fitted in some of their checkout operators brains, make it easy for them, computer does everything then...

and just for the record, some c/o assistants are fantastic, pleasant, articulate and its a fantastic shopping experience to go throught their tills...sadly though management do not recognise this type of behaviour in much the same way as they also like to ignore those c/o assts that are utter rubbish and do nothing for the image of their employers
    I'm now a retired teacher... hooray ...:j

Those who can do, those who can't, come to me for lessons:cool:

Or maybe the checkout operator was having a bad day.

Possibly previous customers had tried buying alcohol while clearly underage and then told her she was a F*****g C**t when she refused.

Or a shopper had clearly not understood the concept of buy 2 get 1 free and called her a B***h.

Or a customer couldnt understand the basic workings of a self scan till and threatened to knock her teeth down her throat.

Or a family of four stood there watching her pack their shopping away because they think its below them to do it.

Or she has just scanned a customers last item and the customer disappears half way around the store to get something else.

Or a customer has handed her an empty sweet wrapper or apple core to scan because their precious little darling cannot go an hour without munching on something.

These are all things that happen regularly to my wife and you should all be grateful that you only have to deal with a till operator once a day and not hundreds of abusive, ignorant and downright rude customers.

    Ok rant over LOL!
  • I have to say I thing Tesco have the worst customer service of any of the supermarkets. Their c/o opperators sit there like bulldogs chewing wasps, it kills them to say hello and if they do manage it they normally have a look on their face like their about to choke on the word.
The last time I went there I had the rudest woman serve me, no smile or hello, no would you like some help with your packing. She scanned the items that fast and shoved them down the shoot all my things were getting squashed at the bottom. Then when there was no more room to shove them down the shoot she started chucking them ontop of the stuff I was trying to pack. In the end I stopped and asked her if she was taking the mick and that she could clearly see I was on my own, going as fast as I could and that she was squashing my stuff. Her response if you can believe it was "well I haven't got all day"
At the end I make her get someone to swap all the stuff she had squashed.
When I went to customer service to complain afterwards the 3 girls behide the desk were more concerned with discussing whoevers love life to serve me. I stood there for five minutes with them pretending they hadn't seen me before I walked out. If I had not left when I did I would have blown my lid big time:mad:

Needless to say I have never ever shopped in a tesco since and that includes there home delivery. I know I am only a little fish in Tesco's big sea but it makes me feel better that my hard earned money doesn't go in there tills.
    Nothing to report:p

I understand that we all have bad days and that some people are downright rude to c/o but with all due respect I am not one of these people so why should I have to bare the brunt of there bad day?
Sometimes dealing with rude and selfish people is part of the job and it is not the fault of the person who is next in line so why should they be treated like it is?
    Nothing to report:p

I have had 3 bad experiences in Tescum, so it cant be a coincidence.

    Rolleypolleypud.
Maybe Tesco have the worst customers too.
People on here are forever moaning about bad customer service, I can appreciate that I do shop now and then, but I was just trying to get the point across that the customers themselves can be downright nasty.
Regarding the scanning of your shopping, Tesco monitor the till operator scan rates and if they are not high enough they get pulled up for it.

I think Tesco customer services are pretty good.
I have dealt with them several times and they are efficent, polite, and friendly. They may not be the brightest and often need to ask supervisor, or manager because they dont really understand but they get paid minimum wage so I am not expecting paxman and perhaps they are just covering their own backsides as so many customers do try and rip them off.

Asda on the other hand - awful. Worst I have ever been to was one down in Portsmouth (Fratton I think). Store was a mess, staff were hiding around corners to avoid customers, manager was walking around car park.
