Closing an account with 02 and requesting a PAC code

maybe i`m reading this wrong,
But as far as i`m aware, requesting your PAC does not start any 30 day notice period, because if you decide to not use the PAC then your contract continues as is.
But if you do use the PAC then the contract with O2 ends on the date of the transfer to the new provider, so if you port over to the new provider part way through your bill cycle when you are out of contract, then the old service provider O2 in this case, are obliged to charge you only the part of the bill cycle you where still with them.
Apologies if i have read this wrong, its been a long day.0 -

It is all a bit confusing, but I will see how all the billing goes and report back with the dates etc. It may help other 02 users in the future.0 -

I queried if I would have to pay a full months bill for only going over one day with T-Mobile and this is how they it was explained to me!0 -

This is how I understand it based on my experience. They can only charge you up to the point your number is transfered from them. If it was part month then you'd get a credit or refund for the remaining days where service has not been provided, unless it explicitly states in their T&C's otherwise. In which case try to use the PAC towards the end of the 30 days expiry, to reduce the chance of double paying on two contracts.0
