Sorry I read your name wrong, I apologise.

I was not for one minute thinking you were advocating fraud, it was just when you said that they didn't give you a clue about how to fill it in, I thought why do you need a clue, just tell it as it is, they are not trying tom 'trick you as you seem to suggest.

    Hi
I guess I just covered a few points that were bothering me in the same message and the fraud thing wasn't directed at you. I already explained what I meant in a much earlier message so I'm not sure why people are still quoting me and using words such as 'decietful' and 'fraud'. (not directed at you) I'd like to quote a much earlier post which everyone seems to be ignoring in their rush to shout 'fraud'

    Hi
I wasn't suggesting that anyone should be dishonest. It's just that many people have a tendency to make out they are doing better than they really are. When I was filling in my latest application I was talking through things with my friend who is the care worker and we came across the question 'how often do you stumble'? I said it was probably only about once a week but then my friend said but I see you stumble everytime you try to stand up and my husband agreed and when I thought about it I realised I stumbled several times a day. We have a tendency to not see how bad we really are so I think it is better to err on the worst case scenario because to be honest that is probably more accurate. xx

Before you made the post about how often you stumble, you stated that people should fill out the form giving details of their worst days only.

It was a while later you made that post.

You also state that another organisation gives advice about filling in their worst days and although I don't think you were saying people should intentionally commit fraud, by following not only your advice, but also the advice of the 'professional' you gave, then they are going to be committing fraud.

There is only one way to fill in the DLA forms - truthfully. It isn't a game. It isn't about the DWP not wanting to give anyone money, it is about making sure that that money goes to the right people.

Not for one minute do I believe you felt you were advocating fraud, nevertheless, your advice is wrong.

Was it Single Sue talking about pill boxes? Or Saver Sue, you two confuse me ;)

I have a pill box that I fit just under 20 pills in per day, some of which are quite large, and it would take more than that. Less than you need I know, but you could have two? I forget to take my meds if I've not refilled it and it makes going out over meds-time so much easier, they're all in one place with me! It's this one this is my third one, the previous 2 got too small after a very short time.

The other downside is that it only has monring and evening, which isn't great, but one of my previous ones had morning, lunch, evening, bed, and fitted around 20 tablets in over the day. There are quite a few around that are reasonably sized, you'd still need two, but then you could have the ones you take first thing in the morning and before bed upstairs and the others downstairs? Or something similar..! x

Hi debbiedeboo, I hope you didn't think any of my posts, or their contents were referring to you personally or any of your posts as they weren't. I am sorry if you took anything personally as it wasn't intended.;)

Anything I have posted here is a general view as there are many threads on here where people ask about filling DLA forms and the 'write all your answers based on your worst day' often appears - I feel this is misleading and could get people into trouble by possibly committing fraud unintentionally.

You have to give examples of your worst days and the better days (if you have them) which I think most people have variable days. I hope I have expressed that correctly!

I do have trouble at time expressing myself in English as Welsh is my first language and I think in Welsh!

    Hi Tobruk
I was getting a bit bothered after seeing so many posts quoting me and saying 'fraud', it was clear my later explanation was being disregarded! I would never fill anything in fraudulently, I wouldn't need to anyway my condition is bad enough without having to exaggerate.
My first language was welsh too but only for a few years and now my welsh is dreadful!! I haven't lived in Wales for over twenty years and I'm currently finding it difficult going back there as my mum recently died and making the journey there to see my sisters is very hard for me emotionally. I do miss Wales sometimes though. x

I'm sorry you felt bothered, sometimes you can misread posts and feel that things are aimed at you personally. I can assure you that my replies were not an attack on you but a general point of view.

I'm sorry for your loss and I'm sure it is difficult to travel back to what was your home, please accept my sympathies. I'm sure if you spent a little time amongst Welsh speakers you would probably surprise yourself that it would come back to you very quickly!

    Best wishes

    Thanks Tobruk
Just having a bad time at the moment and very sensitve. My illness and pyschological problems are at a peak so I'm prone to getting upset easily which of course makes me ill. I try so hard to stay positive and to do positive things with my life but it's just such a struggle sometimes. I'll never give up because the alternative is even worse but I wish every step I take to achieve anything wasn't so difficult. Just tired. sorry. x

It was Saversue, thanks - I will try to find a couple of very large pill boxes, all the ones I have seen are far too small. I also keep a supply of tablets in my bag in case I am (very rarely) out when its pill time.
I'm not trying to break any records, but what sort of numbers do other people take and how do they cope?

Wow, very interesting but very expensive. Can't see how many pills it holds, to dispense in one go, ie 22 at bedtime. Might give them a ring to find out more. thanks
