Oh I know, but my car only has a 45l tank so it doesn't make too much difference. I always brim my tank, as I like to keep obsessive MPG records, and the price might have gone up next time, or I might otherwise run low and not be near a [STRIKE]cheap[/STRIKE] least extortionate petrol station.0

Assuming it's an aftermarket locking cap I imagine they are only so many keys
The only think I can think is that the lock on the petrol cap is not as complex and easier to pick with an ill fitting key ,much like old fords ....one key fits all0 -

Put what you need in on Friday to get you to next Friday.
For the folks that say you will suck all the crap out of the tank if you do that? well I should have been stranded every week since the 60's.
Why would anyone want to carry an extra 50 ltr, ie, Kilograms weoight of fuel around if they don't intend using it.
If you are nervous, put a half gallon can in the boot.
My step father used to keep it low, for your reasons.
But most people get paid monthly & probably fill monthly.
I fill twice monthly:(0 -
There are pro's and cons of course and I'm not sure if the saving in fuel consumption will actually excxeed the rate at which fuel prices go, depending which way you choose.
I must have a half fuel glass, not tank, as I still live in the hope that fuel prices will fall, anyway when I get back from planet Tzaarg,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,;)I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
well had no luck being able to get a lockable cap or lockable flap (poet and didn't know it lol).
My dads new idea is to attach a lock himself () to the petrol flap. Actually I'm sure he'll manage it, anyone any other suggestions?
someone said i should write a note and stick it on the cap inside saying 'i can see you!':rotfl:
On another note, not enjoying driving, its terrifying:o0 -
Just get a standard replacement cap or flap and forget about it. Yes you have been unlucky, but it will probably never happen again.
;)
Oh, and now is when you start to learn to driveI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Ah rubbish. That would mean I would need to fill my tank with two tanks worth of fuel.0 -
