I had my hair coloured all way through my kids pregnacy`s, asked the hairdresser for advice before i did, and they all said it was safe.

I also had a head massage, but i did have to delay my appointment whilst the salon checked about give one to a pregnant lady, it was lovley!!

And if you have been offered a free £200 hair cut and your happy with doctors advice ect, go for it, just point it out to stylist before they start.

Remember you have to pay first then they reimburse you up to their set amount, or if they are desperate for the job to be done they will normally give you an advance.

It's the fact that it may not take the same as when you are not pregnant (mine goes a lot lighter with the same dye when pregnant)
It won't harm the baby though - tell the hairdresser as I don't know if it's a standard way it affects pregnant hair (ie maybe with pregnant women you leave it on 7 minutes less or something)

The NHS is probably the best place for advice on this. Here's a link to their website.

I am a midwife and avoided hair dye in both of my pregnancies.

I had bleached highlights in my hair when I was pregnant and there was no problem

Enjoy it, it sounds like you need cheering up

I'm also a midwife and dyed my hair when i was 8 weeks pregnant and when i was 8 months pregnant, most of my collegues also dye thiers. The dye didn't take to well and didn't last as long though. Whatever you do, enjoy yourself as you won't get much you time when your little bean arrives :D

are you sure the mystery shop allows you to have hair dyed? i did one this week, was a contribution towards a cut and blow dry or just shampoo and blow dry but you couldn;t have colour as then they would not offer the head massage thing, which is what i was testing.

    so check its okay. :)

Ive got three kids (youngest is 4mths) and Ive dyed my hair throughout my pregnancies (salon and home). Only difference for me was that my hair grew faster so needed doing more often!. Salon just said that they were more cautious as hormones can make your scalp more sensitive.

I say go for it! you need all the pampering you can get right now :0P
