As I have mentioned thae product is for sale on Amazon for £70 and Argos for £114.

The trouble is that by quoting this you are implying that this product is a truly wonderful buy at £30. In practice it looks to be a £30 to £40 coffee maker being sold for £30. Still a decent buy, and credit to you for finding it, but the comparion with £114 was somewhat OTT, and that's the reason you are getting some less than ecstatic comments mixed in with the ecstatic ones.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

But the OP didn't set the prices on Argos - that is what they are advertised at - completely out of his control so not OTT, the RRP is a fact!

I agree with you that it is in no way worth the RRP but I'm personally grateful to be able to get a gift for someone I know who is completely taken in by famous names. If they check this out online they will find and be impressed by the ridiculous price tags and won't know that I paid a much more realistic price :)
My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead :D
Proud to be a chic shopper

  • Just researched a bit further, although its branded Ramsey its as actually made by Sensio.
This is a near identicall one without the Ramsey name with a couple of reviews from America. You can form your own opinions as to wether the price is bumped up much because of the Ramsey name.

Well since the sensio is about £90 and the best amazon uk has is £70, the argos clearance price of £28 is pretty damn fine.

We have an espresso maker which we love however there's a lot to be said for a reliable filter machine as they are much easier to care for and produce good mug amounts of coffee (you're less likely to ping around all day if you drink quite a bit)

That seller is a great find OP - thanks :)

Make sure you check Argos first before buying off ebay, for example this:

is cheaper through argos direct than argos clearence if you can get instore:

However the OP find is very good :money:

Heck i know i wasnt very excited about the coffee maker but really there is no need to swear and give this op a hard time. A fancy coffee maker doesnt really interest me as i said before its the frothy milk. has anyone any experience of this

seems to have good reviews but just like rrp's i am always a little sceptical!
    Thanks in advance folks

op - hope you have had a better day, i did :)
  • Well its arrived. I wont have time to try it out for a while as it needs washing and then to brew 2 twice with water, but initial thoughts are 'wow'.
Build quality is excellent, the finish on the steel is very good and it looks very smart, a little larger than I expected but so far very happy!
