Well, I had a go at this method this morning and cut about 3" off my hair.

I normally get my hubby to trim the back for me and I do the fringe but I'm not too sure how well a job he does. :o

My hair is just past shoulder length and I tend to wear it in a ponytail and then put a claw in to hold it up at the back.

Anyway, it doesn't look too bad except that the ends aren't brilliant. I think this may be because I used the scissors that he got with his hair trimming set from Argos.

I have seen some hairdressing scissors in Boots for £7.50, yes, I know they won't be brilliant as decent ones start at about £40 and go up to the hundreds!

If you are a man and wear your hair short then the best investment you can make is to buy some hair clippers.

You can get them for less than £20 and you'll be guaranteed to save a fortune in haircuts and never have to queue at the barbers again!
Good advice indeed. I spent £25 or so on some hair clippers nearly ten years ago and I haven't been to a hairdresser's since. It must have saved me hundreds of pounds on haircuts and removed all the hassle of booking apointments or waiting my turn at the barber's. Now when I need a trim I just run the clippers over and I'm done in about 20 minutes.
  • I am wavy/curly haired and every time I need a haircut I traipse around looking into hairdressers debating whether or not all these ahirdressers with mega straight, bias cut, hair would know what the hell to do with my barnet. Once I pluck up the courage to go in and let them have a go, I realise they DONT - EVER!

FINALLY, I persuaded my hub, to try cutting my hair. He did a bit of research and found out that curly hair should be cut dry and then he set to work. It's fantastic! The best music of any hairdressers, the best chat and all in the comfort of my own home. Free haircuts for life for me too! HURRAH!
