It might be worth giving Consumer Direct a call tomorrow and run the situation past them particularly as the terms seem rather unfair. I notice that they've made their logo similar in design to google which is rather naughty - any unsuspecting person may associate this company with google.0

SEO sold in this way is a pile crap.. and usually fraudsters!
If they suggested they could get you on the front page of google search results, then it's something they simply can't promise. Only google could promise you that - but that's not a service a sell!
If they suggested they could get you on a sponsored link - then yes, they could resell you adwords etc.. but then that's not SEO..
So you could let them try, and then take them to court for non delivery of (verbal) contract...:-S
Alternatively contact your creditcard company - your credit card company still has the ability to step in, even in a business environment.
Nobody knows the google algorithm (except google), it changes every few days, and trying to falsely trick the googlebot (called blackhat seo) often results in removal from google altogether. The whole point of the googlebot algorithm is that it tries to find relevant/popular content for your search terms, there are a number of basic steps which are far more effective than any paid for seo - primarily, make the content of the site relevent to the service you provide, ensure pages contain relevant information - so they don't get watered down, register with the search engines, get links to and from your site pointing to and from other relevant sites. There are obviously a few more - but SEO sold as "we can get you on the front page of goofle" is a myth, and a well thought out and put together site outweighs the SEO "tricks" by a long shot.. I prefer the term "search engine aware" which should be applied throughout the authoring of a site and gives much better results...0 -
It appears from a quick look at the website in question, they dont even SEO your site, they simply run an adwords campaign (hint is the results appearing within 48 hours gaurenteed, time scheduling ads etc etc)
Save your money, do it yourself, or hire a decent pro to do it - or better yet, seo the site..[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.

The impact of this is to stigmatise people on benefits,
and we should be deeply worried about that[/redtitle](house of lords debate, talking about Cameron)0
