Tried that. Its too common (Williams), especially as I only have the area she got married in, not necessarily where she lives.
I have mailed LDS, so will hopefully get something back from them.
Thanks for everyone's help
Kerihey there's no money but we couldn't be happier if we tried

Thank you so much for the message, hopefully one of those addresses will lead to something.
I've figured that naming who I'm looking for on here is probably more a good thing than bad unless someone thinks otherwise. The worst that would happen is someone getting in touch saying they're them when they're not? And that should be easily verifiable by dh before anyone got in touch with m-i-l.
So... I'm looking for Jack Frederick (sp?) Leonard Hodder born August, 1931 in Harrow, Middx (registration district on birth cert shows as Croydon) married to a lady called Olive (Cook). Last place my m-i-l knows they lived was Chalfont-saint-Giles, Bucks, but this was around 25 years ago
They had one child, a daughter, named Sarah Ann Williams (nee Hodder) married to a Stephen J Williams in 1978 in Hillingdon, Uxbridge.
Sarah and Stephen went on to have one child so far as I know. I think, a boy, but know nothing more than that. I have found a Stephen J Williams born in Bucks in 1981, mother's maiden name Hodder, so that is a likely possibility. Sadly I've just this minute found a death certificate of the same name and year of birth, for 2 years later, also in Hillingdon, so my husband may well have been correct that their child did not live long.
So, I think you now have all the information at my disposal. If anyone has any inspiration I'd be so pleased to hear it. I like a quest, so thought maybe I might not be alone in this and someone may like to join in the challenge
Also, as I said if someone has more experience than me in why it wouldn't be a good idea to have these details on an open forum then please feel free to speak up. I can't see how its too different to family search sites, or writing to local papers, etc which others have suggested
Off I go again anyway...hey there's no money but we couldn't be happier if we tried

Do you use genesreunited.com for your search? I use this a lot and the people on the forums there can be very helpful with finding information as many of them are signed up to different things.£2 Savers Club #156!
